The tank its' coming from is their 'show tank' at the front of the shop. They are breaking it down to make space for a new marine tank. It just so happened I was in the shop as they were doing it. They know I've got a new tank as I picked it up from them just last week.

Hi all, Beginners question. My local aquatic shop has offered me a load of their cycled filter media. They said if I add this to my current media/replace it, then my tank will be cycled. Is this true? Or is a smart tactic to get me buying fish faster! Thanks.

Thankfully the tank has settled down over night. It's looking much clearer this morning. I've got a few fast growing plants in there, but not a lot. I'll transfer some of the anacharis from the main tank once that's cycled, so help with this tanks cycle.

I turned a bowl upside down on the sand and poured the water onto that, it actually helped quite a lot. But I still managed to cause a big mess! I’ll see how it looks tomorrow.

Day 3 Update The live plants turned up today and the scape went okish! I cleaned the plants, positioned the plants where I wanted and then sat back and admired my handiwork. I then started to add water, but as the sand got wet it also started to sink. My dragon stone fell over onto my plants...

Day 7 Update I have bought two bunches of Anacharis to help with the silent cycle. Once the cycle is complete, these will be removed and put into my quarantine tank.

Thankfully DPD are by far the most reliable couriers in the UK.
