Just finished planting the jar and filling it with water. Pretty happy with how it came out. I planted some dwarf hairgrass and S.Repens in between the rocks. Filigree Milfoil in the background and pink baby tears on the sides. Stuck some moss on the rocks at the back too. I may add some more...

So the "snow" sand is in and I've played around with the seriyu stone and added some gravel for details. All that's left is to add plants and water!

The last of the tanks will be a fry grow out tank. Picked up some cool pots so I'm going to plant them and just have a light layer of sand on the bottom. The other 2 tanks are scaped so I'll be keeping this one simple.

Yeh i thought about that. I could get blue dreams and some crystal reds and i know they won't breed.

So I got some bad news today. The supplier I was getting the pea puffers from emailed today to say they were all DOA when they got to the shop because of a delay in transport. So I'm getting a refund and hopefully they'll have more in 5-6 weeks time. Pretty shattered! I have the apisto tank...

Shrimp city got a lighting upgrade today! The old light was great but it had an on/off button instead of a switch so it would turn off OK at night with the timer but I'd still have to press the button to turn it on in the morning. Got one for my daughters frozen jar too! And got one on the way...

Yep, what Wills said! Determine what plants to want to use first as some plants need aquasoil and some can grow fine with just sand and root tabs. Also if you go down the aquasoil base with sand capping route just make sure you put a nice thick layer of sand. If the sand layer is too thin then...

Made a complete rookie error today. I rushed out and bought a whole bunch of plants for the new setup. Got some anubias, crypts, Java fern, Java moss and some Valisenera. Set it all up and blub blub blub....the driftwood started floating 😂 I forgot to soak it! Stuck a few rocks on it for now...

It's a bit of a mess at the moment, it's become a storage tank for plants for my new tank haha Thank you.
