Do your research before running down to the LFS and spending big. My first tank was a 19L nano tank which i didn't cycle at all and overstocked it. Ended up in disaster and many dead fish.
Black ghostknives are awesome fish! I had one that got too big for my 165L tank so i ended up selling it for a profit and got another one to grow out again. Love the rams too! Very colourful.
You can, just watch a lot of youtube videos for ideas like i did haha
There's some Telanthera, blue stricta, giant ambulia, java moss, duckweed and probably a couple of others I've forgotten the name of. Lights are on for about 13hrs a day.
So i've noticed one of my harlequin rasboras mouth is constantly opening and closing and it hasn't been eating. It also seems to be less interactive with the other rasboras and tends to just hover in the tank on its own most of the time. None of the other fish in the tank have the same problem...
i had a spiny eel which disappeared under the gravel as soon as i put him in the tank. Would randomly see his head poking out of the gravel in different spots in the tank but he rarely came out.
Kribs are very easy to breed. I threw a pair into a 26gal breeder with some caves and they bred within a week. They made great parents too for about 2 weeks then they wanted to breed again and the female started chasing the babies so i got the parents out of there and left the babies to grow...
I've had a dream that my tank exploded and water and fish were all over the floor. Also had a dream that i shrunk myself and went swimming in the tank with my fish ahaha. Must have been smoking some good stuff that night ?♂️

I'd ditch the coloured gravel and put sand for the kuhli loach. They love sifting through the sand. I had gravel in my tank with 6 kuhli loaches and they just sat under a piece of driftwood all the time, as soon as i switched to sand they instantly looked happier and are out all the time sifting...
I have 6 kuhlis and dropped about 50 RCS into the tank. It's hard to know how many i've got left because the tank is heavily planted but i still see heaps of shrimp in the plants. I see the shrimp and kuhlis hanging out together sometimes and haven't seen any get taken by the kuhlis but who...
I've changed substrates in both my established tanks from gravel to sand and i did it with the fish still in the tank. Didn't lose a single fish in either tank. It can be done.
Thank you! This is the first tank i've done where i actually tried to make it look natural and use lots of plants and rocks. Happy with how it came out.
My Empire Gudgeon looks to have an injury on his side most likely from getting into a punch on with my male kribensis because i see them squaring off sometimes.
It's been like this for about a week now but he seems fine, swimming around as normal and eating.
Will it heal by itself or is there...
