Hey Colin I like the Aussie idea of tanks by the foot....much cheaper than tanks by the gallon, a 55 g is about 4 ft long. BTW I never knew about fish TB....now you given me another psychosis to worry about, as if CV wasn't enuff..... LOL

This thread brings up a great question - Does anybody plan on tank succession. In that what if one get tired of the fish they have in a tank...what do to with the current occupants? My new 100 g was set up with the idea of providing a new more spacious home...but I were to go a different route...

Yup...the center fractured and broke. I used a 24 inch gripper bar to squeeze the front and back glass together. That enabled me to cement the center bar back together as well as using acrylic bars to support the center. That being said I don't trust the repairs against fully loading the tank...

Yup a 13" gar in a 30 gal is not the way to go...but hey who hasn't made the mistake of buying a without proper knowledge....At a local LFS I've seen baby fish for sale that would not be suitable as they grew up...Again not everybody is a FishNerd. And this is not restricted to Fish...

On flip side you gotta hand it to the owners to have gotten the fish to that size. I'm pretty sure they didn't start out that size. Not everybody is a fish nerd, for 50 bucks if I lived in Cin. I might consider taking it off their hands and using the fish in an outdoor pond.

Well given all that's happening with CV, many of us are blessed with jobs and if we got a EOY bonus that's a plus....I know many more people who have nothing...so we should be happy with our blessings and help others when we can....all the more important these days....

Well with a tank like that one certainly has a lot of utility...emergency water source for wildland fires, backup food source for the coming Trump zombie apocalypse...if one get tired of the fish, can convert to a lap pool...LOL I guess he's the ultimate Fish Nerd:banana:
