    Frustrated with algae killing everything

I'll get some pictures soon. There isn't too much of it in the tank right now though, because I just cleaned yesterday.

Yes, I'm using tap water. I'll get the pictures in a bit.

    Frustrated with algae killing everything

I'll look into these. I would prefer to not have to dump everything and start over.

    Frustrated with algae killing everything

Well, it's a bit too late for that. I've been touching it and breathing in the fumes for the past couple months. Will my pleco be okay? He ate some...

    Frustrated with algae killing everything

I can get some pictures of the plants tomorrow. I'm using Seachem Flourish for the fertilizer. I used to dose every week, but I only do it every month now because I thought that might be worsening the problem. The tank is 20 gallons.

    Frustrated with algae killing everything

It killed the plants by completely covering them, and essentially preventing them from getting any nutrients. It covered the roots of the Salvinia.

    Frustrated with algae killing everything

This is interesting. I have sand in this tank, which obviously I can't siphon like gravel. Do you think maybe that's causing it?

    Frustrated with algae killing everything

I have a 20 gallon tank that was, at one time, planted with Pogostemon, crypts, Watersprite, Pearlweed, Monte Carlo, and Salvinia. Then, several months ago, I had some hair algae which I managed to get rid of pretty easily. After that, the real problems started. A green film algae started...

Rabbit Rescue Looking For Foster Families in NY

I work as a foster for a bunny rescue organization, called T.H.E Rabbit Resource, located in New York. A lot of rabbits have just come in, and we don't have enough fosters to take them all! We need people to open their hearts and their homes to help the abused and neglected bunnies that are...

Vote Now - May 2021 Pet of the Month Contest

This is Chili! He is an 11 month old polish dwarf rabbit. Chili came to us as a foster, after he was rescued from a little cage where his owners neglected him. He was sick when we got him, and the fur was missing from his nose. He was nervous too, and just hid for the first day. Slowly though...

Does anyone have experience with budgies?

    Aww, that's so sweet!
  13. FishFinatic77

How much have you spent on the hobby?

    I've spent too much.

Does anyone have experience with budgies?

Thank you very much for your kind words. It means a lot to know that I'm doing a good job with my birds. :) It's so sad how those budgies were being kept! It's good that you saved them before the parents released them. Sugar must have been an amazing bird! Anesthesia is risky for any bird, but...

Does anyone have experience with budgies?

Who knows! Probably about all the weird things the big, featherless creatures do.

Does anyone have experience with budgies?

Thank you, but I actually already have them! I got them in December. :)

Does anyone have experience with budgies?

Thank you! Yes, Sprite and Marshmallow talk all day long. I like listening to them though. It's a very cheerful sound. ?

    What fish are you?

I'm a betta. I love food, can be grumpy at times (especially when I don't eat), and I don't like being with my own kind.

    New little bunny!

Yes, very! Actually, while I was writing my post, he was laying on my chest with his head tucked under my chin.

    Informational reaction

The informational reaction is not the same as agree. It just says that the comment has very helpful and informational content.

    New little bunny!

Thank you! It's just him right now. We're going to keep fostering, so we might get him a friend at some point, but he seems pretty happy on his own.

    New little bunny!

We've been fostering a sweet little bunny named Chili for the past month, and today we adopted him! I'm so happy he's going to stay with us!

    Informational reaction

Yeah, it should probably be controlled to prevent it from being overused. @Fishmanic @WhistlingBadger would something like this be a possibility?
  29. FishFinatic77

    Informational reaction

No, it's different than an agree reaction. Basically it marks a very helpful and informational comment. So if someone would like to quickly find information, they could just look for the informational reaction.

    Informational reaction

I saw this on another forum I'm on, and I thought it was a good idea. We should have an "informational" reaction, to mark comments that are particularly helpful. We can "like" anything, but we need a way to show that a comment has very good or important information.

Thank you! They make me happy too. Just looking at their cute little faces makes me smile.

Does anyone have experience with budgies?

It's been a while, so I thought I would give a quick update! Sprite and Marshmallow are both doing very well. They are completely tame now, and love to train, play with my sleeves, or just sit on my hand. They have both mastered step-up, as well as target training, and they give kisses on...
