the leaves look much smaller than on the stem plant you mentionned I think. Is it because it's in it's emersed form? Also will the tiger lotus have a bit of red even if it is the green variety?

Hi, I bought new plants and I would like to know if it's normal for what I think is a tiger lotus to have roots without a bulb? Also I have what I beleive is rotala rotundufolia but I would like if someone could confirm.

I just checked back to be sure the quikrete play sand was at the home depot near where I live but it is not available. I was 100% sure it was :( I will probably have to take sand at my LFS

The other thing is that these food are probably bad for fish if they eat it and they would probably eat it before the snail so I think I have my awnser. It's probably not gonna work in that tank

I have cuttlebone but I would not use it in my 55 gallon because of the stocking. I think crab cuisine food or something like that is high in calcium if I remember well

That's weird there are so much mixed opinions about these snails. I think what I could do is try them in my 10 gallon before putting them in my 55 gallon. @DwarfCichlidLvr do you know if Rachel O'Leary has soft water like I do and if so how does she deals with their shells?

For the floating plants I would say frogbit! My favorite thing about these are the beautiful long roots and this floating plant also doesn't take over a tank like duckweed.

I think only flourish exel hurts vals but anyway we should never use that in a tank with fish. I use flourish and so far my vallisneria are ok

I will make water changes but like I said just about 10%-15% every month (probably more at the begining). There will be the bioload of a 2 inch fish and a snail, do you think it could work? How do water change affect fish?
