    Tank Mates

In short, maybe. One thing I've learned while keeping Betta, is to never put a male and female unless enough space. They may breed, which is something you should keep in mind. However, if the 55 is HUGE, I think the chance of them breeding may not happen. What other fish breeds are you keeping...

    Losing Fish Possible Columnaris?

I think you need to do a deep clean in the entire tank. Try to clean the plants or replace them, clean the rocks, ect. It could be the fish's problem though. If cleaning doesn"t help, then switch out a tank.

Is this tank ok to put a betta in?

I think you could put a betta in it, but I would think a 10 Gallon would let the betta be more active. As other people may think, bettas actually thrive a lot better in open space, not a tiny space. Either way, make as much room in the tank :)

I think there is something(Parasite?) on my Aquarium plant(?)

Hello, I was looking at my plants in my aquarium, when I noticed this: Should I worry about this yet? This is a cycling tank. Also, how should I remove it? Or should I not? And what exactly is this???????????

    It's just not?

    How should I reduce nitrite?
  9. Goldfish4EVER

    It's just not?

The nitrite levels rised a little bit higher. On the first week, it was 0ppm nitrite. On the second week, it was 0.25ppm nitrite. now, it's around 0.50-1 ppm nitrite.

    It's just not?

I think my 3 week old cycling aquarium is doing fine, as it has 1 ppm ammonia and nitrite. But it still doesn't have nitrate yet, should I worry about it? I'm not sure when nitrates are suppose to come. Any help is appreciated!

Aprox. Time to Cycle Tank without adding bacteria from Bottle

Hi! I'm currently cycling a tank, but I'm wondering around how many weeks/month it will take without adding bacteria from bottle? I've heard it can take around 4-8 weeks.
  12. Goldfish4EVER

    is it normal?

The temperature is around 78, PH is around 7, and no, the nitrates are still below 1.
  13. Goldfish4EVER

    is it normal?

I don't have another aquarium at this moment, so I cannot do 'massive seeding'. I'm doing fishless cycling with 1 asian water fern. It's been around 2 weeks now.
  14. Goldfish4EVER

    is it normal?

Is it normal for there to be no Nitrites but still ammonia while cycling your tank? I know that usually nitrites pop up around 1-2 week but I'm have no nitrites at all. I only have ammonia.

    Should my Tank smell Bad?

How often should I change my tank water while cycling?

    I need answers ASAP

But my question is if 1 ppm ammonia is to little for a 1.5 week old tank.

    I need answers ASAP

My Water Conditioner takes care of both Chlorine AND Chloramine so I'm going to wait and see. I'll update once it's 2 weeks!(1.5 weeks right now)

    I need answers ASAP

No, I did not add ammonia from a bottle, but fish food. Nope! I don't have chlorine since I added water conditioner. I have 1 asian water fern.

How do I catch my fish??

Remove the all the other fish then except her. Also, you are like a big death trap in her eyes, so leave her alone and try to catch her once every few hours or so.

    I need answers ASAP

Should a 1.5 week old cycling tank have around 0.50-1 ppm(I think?) ammonia levels? I've heard you get around 5 or less on your first week? I really need help please! I want to make sure my tank is cycling properly. Thanks!

    Should my Tank smell Bad?

Hi, I'm currently cycling a 10 gallon tank for 1 week now, but it smells kind of bad and weird when I lift the lid. Is this from the bacteria, or ammonia? I have no idea what to do. Should I change water weekly? Or daily? I'm really worried about the smell mostly though. What should I do?

    New Member :)

Hello! I'm Goldfish4EVER! A little about me: I'm sorta new to fish keeping, but I have kept fish before. I've taken care of 8 fancy Goldfish, bettas, neon tetras, ect. I know a bit about cycling, but sometimes still confused. I've tried taking care of water plants too if that counts lol. My...

    I think I made a Terrible Mistake

Hello! I'm not entirely, but fairly new to fish keeping. I'm currently setting up a 10 gallon tank and waiting for it to cycle. I just passed week one on Sunday, and went to test the water for ammonia or nitrites, but then remembered I don't have any tests for ammonia! However, I have test...
