What other fish can I have in soft water besides corydoras since they don't like gravel. I had a list but have lost the list of fish that do well in soft water. I have 8 tetras. What other fish could I have?

I could put the fish in a bucket of water, syphon out as much as I can then take the gravel out. Then pour the sand into the tank with a little bit of water and wait for it to float to the bottom of the tank. What do you think?

I found the gap that the fish was getting in so that's not a problem. But now the Cory is quite sick I think.

The Cory is getting a red mark on its left side by it's fin underneath on its belly. The other one that died had a very red mark looked like a wound in the same place.
