    Fish keeping is too stressful

It shouldnt be stressful at all and your fish should live long lives in your tank. You will always get the odd death here and there but if the tank is running properly then they should live fine and in good health. You have done the right thing asking on here and its a great hobby that the...

    Bichir growth rate/age

I have three and they have quick growth for a year or so until about 12" then it seems to slow down. My three are about 16" , 12" and 13". they are big fish with big mouths and in my experience very predatory but easy to keep

    New Freshwater Predator Tank

I did, I didnt love the look without it althought it is easier to clean I wish I had bought darker sand. The rays do love it but they make such a mess of it I've got the boarding under the sump supported but I guess at some point I need to take it apart and do it properly

    New Freshwater Predator Tank

They're huge, far too big for home aquarium I think but a load came in to the UK last year. I saw them in the zoo at Washington DC and you're right they are massive

Red Eye Red Tail Puffer Eggs?

Be cool if they are. I was of the opinion danio eggs are tiny and shrimp tend to keep their eggs around them and are tinier again.

    Sump or canister for tropical

The problem I had was I had made the slats on the weir bigger as I kept big fish in that tank prior to an upgrade, now that I was keeping small fish I was losing them in to the sump so I used some plastic mesh I use for bonsai plant pot drainage holes and glued it over where I had made the holes...

    Sump or canister for tropical

I've had sumps on my tanks for the last 10 years or so. I bought a 4ft grow out tank last year with canister filter and I found maintaining a canister filter again after all these years a real pain in the backside. Saying that I am keeping small fish again and plants for the first time since I...

    10 cardinal tetras here today

The more you get the more impressive they get as they get a bit bigger. I have added a load to my tank last week and gone from 10 to about 50 and it gives off such an impressive display even though they are small fish

    Favourite tetra

I've started keeping tetras again after an absence of about 7 years. I have returend to my old favourites rummy nose and cardinals. I have about 50 cardinals in my tank and in my opinion they are as eye catching as any other fish in the hobby

🐶 POTM VOTE NOW - March 2024 Pet of the Month Contest

This is Frank my staffordshire bull terrier. He is 4 in May, first time having the breed and I will always have one now I think. He is daft as a brush, lazy, loving, vocal and pretty much like my shadow. We lost our other male dog Enzo last July aged 5 with cancer so Frank has lost his play mate...
