    Biggest regret in fish keeping?

One regret I have is not using a temperature controller for my heaters on tropical tanks. Eventually heaters fail and destroy everything you have worked for, unless you have a temperature controller. I consider it an essential piece of kit now. Won't have a heated tank now without it.

Theodoxus Fluviatilis River Nerite + Caridina Babaulti Malaya 'Red'

I haven't posted on here in a long time, but used to a lot. Ok this is an odd one. I have wanted Caridina Babaulti Malaya 'Red' for literally years, and I just had the opportunity to acquire it. However, I needed to buy 50 of them which is too many for me. So I need someone to take 20 off my...

When To Start Feeding Onion Snail?

Nerites can't be fed. You need to add algae-fied stones or move the tank so it gets some direct sunlight.

    Pencilfish - Bad Male/female Ratio?

thanks I am aware of the problem. shopping around for a 200l tank to house them in atm- but from the sounds of things this might not even be enough given your problems with only 6 beckfordi with 1:2 male/female ratio in 130l! I will add a large 'scare them' fish (that can't really do them harm)...

    Pencilfish - Bad Male/female Ratio?

What did you end up doing in the end?   I have a group of 9 one-lined pencilfish (nannostomus unifasciatus) in a 20 liter tank with an even mix of male/females and they are crazy aggressive until the lights off. At which point they peacefully school. During the day they maintain little...

Got Ich In A Planted Tank With Inverts

Hiya - so I bought some Nannostomus unifasciatus today - and in my opinion one of them has 3 spots of ich on him - bought inadvertently, and the rest are clean. The tank they are in has plants and inverts (shrimp and snails). The recommended treatment (without medication) is to bring the tank up...

    Theodoxus Fluviatilis - Freshwater-Breeding Nerite

Got these from Germany - they grow to about 1cm and are an awesome black and white mosaic colour! This is one of the most beautiful (and useful) freshwater snails. It will absolutely shred any type of 'smearing' algae - like green spot algae (nothing will remove this from your anubias but a...

My yellow and Orange tylos ate java fern and coral pellia - but that was it. Eventually I got rid of them because of it - but they dont tend to kill the plant outright but just take chunks out of the leaves.

    Shrimp Vs. Snails

Depends on the algae you got...For all round algae control best team is amanos and ramshorns - though it you have greenspot algae nothing beats a nerite, cherries can be a nice back-up too. At 10 gallons I would only get one nerite - unless it's clithon corona - then you can get 2.

Eco Sphere. Is It A Good Idea Or Not

What To Feed My Netrite Zebra Snail?

Nerite snails cannot be fed directly, only through having algae on hard surfaces that they randomly frequent will they be able to feed. Put your tank in some direct sunlight or grow more algae another way if you wish to feed it.
