Fine airstones clog up pretty fast for me, I like them but it hurts to pay big coin for a shorter life. Pieces of wood drilled and fitted are interesting, not had much time to play but have gotten some fine bubbles when experimenting

Better for this discussion would be = greater volume of water passing through the device per unit air?

I have an unproven belief that an airstone in a riser tube ( undergravel/sponge filter whatever) works better than just the hose sending bigger bubbles upward. I have seen some argue against. Thoughts?

Sandpaper/emery cloth works great for glass edges, but keep it flat and don't be tempted to wrap it around both sides -avoiding scratching the important surfaces. If using power tools exercise great caution to avoid heating the glass and wear appropriate masks.

I don't think a multitool could replace the very specific scissors that nurses uses. For other purposes Wenger, Victoinox and Leatherman are good products. Don't get carried away with the everything but the kitchen sink units.
