If you really want to tear into it..... Way way way to many plecos for that small of a floor space. Thought I maybe saw ich on a few. The light substrate is sub optimal for all those darker plecos and probably adds to the stress of the overcrowding. I'd say there's a few too many angels in there...

I wouldn't recommend 2 angels, I'd do a larger group with less mid and upper fish. Also you have space for one german blue, which are very difficult fish to keep and needs elevated temps. Opaline gourami are highly aggressive, I wouldn't stock any.

Huh, now I'm really confused. This is a male pleco who was tending to eggs in the wild. The tentacles vary with sexual activity, age, tending to eggs etc. Edited for clarity

I'm just confused. This doesn't look like it is made of the bone like tissue odontodes are made out of. Maybe it could be the stuff plecos coats the odontodes with got infected, but I just don't know.

I thought odontodes were pointy though. Is that just the infection?

Hmm no, BUT, if you somehow find a bonded pair (male+female that will breed) it can work. If you want 2 cool bottom dwellers you should look into kribensis and apistogramma, both will work in your water and if you have a male and female they will breed in the right conditions. I'm a big Krib...
