Decided To Save For A New Tank

Ahhh cant go wrong at £300 really.   If you plan on/forced into spending £500 though id suggest giving ND Aquatics a look. I own several of their tanks and all have been fab.

    Class Of 2014

It is an amazing thing when you think about it.   I remember reading somewhere that a minimum of 3ft is ideal for a pond in winter (UNLESS IT WAS A DREAM) Although both ponds ive had were plenty deeper.

Decided To Save For A New Tank

How much are the jewels out of interest?    Ever looked at custom made? They aren't always as expensive as you would have thought and tend to be alot nicer quality if you go with a decent builder.

    Class Of 2014

Pond looks great :) much prefer a pond that looks natural to an above ground brick one.       Imagine the electric bill, youd need a whopping great heater to make the slightest difference, I did have a heater like float that prevented ice from forming on the surface to aid in gas exchange in my...

    Yellow Dwarf Angelfish

You'll get the usual angel risks in a reef they tend to end up nipping at corals at some point in their life. Some do it straight away but ive seen others say they took years to do it.    Not sure on compatibility with a flame angel though, but id assume given enough space they could be fine...

    Items To First Start

If your looking for something a little cheaper id look at bubble magus for skimmers and the jebao wp series for powerheads. Very good quality products for the price. I love mine and know plenty of other people who rave about them. You really cant go wrong if your looking for reliable and quality...

Doesnt look very porous, is that just the picture giving that impression?

    Are These Fish Compatible?

I dont know if a six line wrasse is still part of your plans but if it is id honestly avoid.   I know loads of people who have removed theirs, myself included. Mine managed to kill my small goby so hes now forever doomed to the timeout zone i call my sump! lol   If a wrasse is part of your plan...

No More Buckets To Change Water!

This is a good idea, theres a company that makes a similar product for marine tanks. It heats and mixes the water and does the water change aswell.

    Harry's Back! 70L Reef Tank

I had the same opinion on the lights when i was choosing leds. The unit just didnt impress me build wise all together. I chose the evergrow it range in the end and had great results with them but going to get razors soon as a friends just changed his to them and the change is amazing!   Leds...

Thinking Of Going Salty For The First Time

I dont really know much about them but often see them for sale with people upgrading to better lights so assume they arent the best, my assumption could be wrong though.   Id honestly look at an evergrow it unit either new or you can get them at a good price second hand just make sure theyve not...

Thinking Of Going Salty For The First Time

You can get all different types of brackets for hanging lights.   The new evergrow it lights come with an extendable set of legs that go over the glass, ive got mine attached to my pelmet and some people hang them from their ceilings.

Thinking Of Going Salty For The First Time

Not really got much that i can add to what tcamos has said.   Theres a few things i wish id have done/got straight away when starting up 18months ago that might help though -   A decent set of lights - Evergrow IT or Razors are a good range of leds that wont cost you the earth A decent skimmer -...

    Harry's Back! 70L Reef Tank

Sounds like a good plan :) Absolutely love torch corals! I did have 3 in my tank but lost one due to brown jelly.   70L limits you a fair bit to what you can keep really bet it wont be long till youll be wanting to upgrade tehe
