I purchased this guy today as the first inhabitant for my tank for my silent cycle. I read that they like blanched veges such as spinach, kale, cucumber, carrot, etc. But when I dropped a small piece of carrot into the tank, he took no interest??

If I capped with pebbles instead (medium-sized) would the substrates mix? Also are pebbles suitable for fish such as bristlenose? Thanks

Are there any negative effects to the sand and Flourite mixing? I already have the Flourite in the tank. If I didn't want the substrates mixing, could I use pebbles instead?

So should I cap with an inch or two of sand?

Hi, I started a silent cycle with my ~13 gallon tank on 26 July. Photos included below. Can I add a snail now? I am still planning on adding more plants and hardscape - I kinda rushed into the whole thing haha. I will add water parameters when I test them tomorrow morning.

I don't know the Kelvin number or CRI of my light, but I will try to find out - and I will stop using Flourish Excel. Should I resume use once I have cycled my tank? Thanks

The light that I use is the stock light of the Aqua One Lifestyle 52. It has a white light (RGB) and a blue light. I don’t know the intensity, but it says it is 13.6 watts? I use Flourish and Flourish Excel. Thanks!
