Thanks :) The african plants are fake, tried real plants and they got a bit of a hiding from this lot I will be adding some angels in with the discus when i find some to my liking

I think water lettuce is illegal in Oz Duckweed, frogbit, Elodea and watersprite would work

The tank is outside in an undercover BBQ area............it is unheated.

My stand is heavy as, its made of besser blocks and quite a few of them, no way would this be able to go inside the house, i would have to look at getting a cabinet at the least to help spread the weight over the floor

I dont work in pounds sorry   681 litres of water it holds....so 681kg of water   around 100kg of glass   Make 781kg   About 100kg of substrate and decor   makes 881kg   Still not 1 ton (1000kg), as i said close to a ton   Certainly closer to a ton than my 75gal with rocks in it for the africans

I put any new wood or plants that come from the lfs or fellow fishkeepers in vinegar water with some 'no planaria' added, then i give it a good rinse and into a tank that has loaches for the day, just to be sure lol

My 6x2x2 (180gal) weighs near a ton

My planted tanks are just propagating sand (for terrestrial plants) unwashed capped with washed course sand, grows plants like a dream  

Peacock cichlids come in a array of colours and can be absolutely stunning!

The newest 5ft is in place now, cant fill it though until i get a background for it, or paint the back of the tank (less chance of this cause its heavy as lol) I will check it out, just catching up on stuff

I dont feed my fish regularly, they might get fed a few days in a row and then not for a day or so, they might get 2 feeds in a day or they might get one.....they are about to go 4 days without food (i have to go away), wont hurt them. Does them good to purge the system

I scaped this on the 4/4/16. I moved some decor and plants from the 4ft planted into this tank. Still got a bit of maturing to do and growing in Currently home to neons (i added another 10 today), cardinals, ember tetras, dwarf loaches & peppermint BN

Most dont stock them because they just cannot compete with the online prices. I have bought from a few of the Aussie online stores and they have been great.

That should be 6 goldies in the 4ft lol, hit the wrong key, dont ya hate that! So here is the other goldie tank, the colours do not show up properly, grrrrrrrrrr, background is pink (yes i spilt some water between the tank and the plastic!) Looks awesome in real life!

Sadly Cappa lost his fight tonight :( May he swim free over the rainbow bridge :(   I will be pulling down and fully cleaning/steralising the 2.5ft that he was in for treatment, the antibiotics will have killed the bacteria in the canister anyway. Once all clean, the tank will be reset up and...

Yeah tis pretty cool. Yeah they are feeder fish, i also buy 6 goldies a month just for something of size for the eel to eat, and also yabbies, which she smashes in a day lol

I had the top tank made to fit on top of the main tank. I did also put 2 this wood boards under it, these run the full length of the tank, there is foam ontop of the board then the sump tank sits on that. The sump tank is drilled. Inlet - drilled into the back. Bulkhead added Outlet - drilled...

I have 2 of these, the largest and the next size down, love them!! I have the floss in the top tray for polishing the water, they both clear up the water brilliantly

Just do an above tank sump....i have one on my 6ft

The new look, i'm loving it! All the goldies, but Cappa, are currently living in here. Yes it is overstocked, but it isnt permanent. Cappa is in the other goldie tank being treated for an internal bacteria issue that is causing kidney failure. Unknown if he will make it sadly.

Base colour coat on, now need to wait for it to fully dry, then onto the detailing
