Thank you.   These guys arent too bad with rooted plants.....but plants in the substrate make cleaning it hard, so i opted for none this time and all plants tied to wood or rock   Thank you anubias is my favourite plant!   The wen is the oranda head growth

I made the same type of background... i filled and ran a small internal for 24 hours Drained the water filled and ran internal full of carbon for 24 hours drained the tank filled and declorinated added fish   The tank with the background is still in use 3yrs later

Update: Substrate is out and tank is currently draining. Once its empty will give it a wipe over and start washing new substrate thats going in.....then i can do the scape and get the tank running again tomorrow. Until then the goldies will stay in their makeshift home obviously. I will also be...

Update, tank is scaped (as best i can with the few plants i had, it will need more!) and angels, cories, BGK, gouramis, tetras have moved in

Sadly Gary the snail has passed away. Also very sadly found Sparrow passed away, no signs of injury or disease. He was out acting normally and had dinner last night, so i dont know what happened to him :( Unless he ate Gary and it didnt do him any good (Gary's shell is empty)

The time has come.....i'll be pulling the plants from this tank (not the foreground or lotus!) and giving it a general tidy up, then replanting.   Its getting a bit scraggly, so its gonna look a bit sad til it grows back in again

My big goldies are in with Anubias and Java fern as well.   They is hungry little beasties, currently they are getting 3 little feeds a day.

Most of my wood is eucalyptus tree or other natives....many i dont know what it is lol   Personally never come across white fungus on any wood that has caused any issues, other than it looking a bit unslightly until it goes away.

I just find my own wood, pricing in lfs can be ridiculous.   I boil smaller pieces to help waterlog them and release tannins, (heat makes the wood fibres open so water can penetrate easier, and tannis leach quicker) It does not break down the wood any faster having boiled it. Bigger pieces that...

Thank you. More fish will be added once i manage to get my hands on some :) I added a heap (and i do mean a heap lol) of native shrimp last night, hoping they will clean up some of the algae and keep the sand turned over and clean.

I bought 2 new tiny fantails today, soooo cute. They are in the large bowl i have, and no this is not their permanent home, they are far too small to go in with the other goldies presently. So i'll give them some grow out time and also quarantine them in the bowl.     Yogi and BooBoo

Yep, here i go again   5ft angel tank - Yep these inhabitants are all gonna move to the 4ft. Now the reasoning lol. The 4ft has plant lighting on it, i wanna go back to fully planting this tank along the lines of the 3ft planted, the angels and other inhabitants will appreciate that.   4ft...

.......well nearly lol....There is a common bn trio, mff (1 male and 1 female with albino gene), that are in there but they are for sale, so as soon as they are gone i think i'll get some ranchus for this tank......finally!!   Anyone have ranchus? Would love to see them

All changed lol It got the better of me   I've finally run outta plants lol So yep i pulled the fake ones back in as fillers until i can get some more live ones. Will grab a pic later

Tank all clean....OMG the canister was feral, and i mean feral lol   Goldies havent moved back in yet, just gotta let the tank warm up a little bit
