    Problems?

Also worth noting that the Iridovirus can lay dormant for months before causing illness so typical quarantine measures aren’t always sufficient to identify it. I had one for 3 or 4 months before it developed the large ulcer that is characteristic of the virus.

    African clawed frog

They can get pretty large so anything less than a 1/2 inch could be swallowed at that point I’d say. When I had mine I trained them to eat from my hand and used floating foods anyway so they never really ate stuff off the substrate. One of them even enjoyed being petted.

    White on Betta! Help!

Looks like an infection of some sort but hard to tell if bacterial, fungal, or parasitic. I would treat with Paraguard since it’s probably just an external infection at this point, Paraguard treats bacterial and fungal infections, and it doesn’t harm the bio filter. If that didn’t work I might...

    Dropsy

You could always treat the betta in a hospital tank if you don't want to risk killing off your biological filter with the antibiotic. (But there's the possibility that your fish may become reinfected when you introduce it back into the tank if you go that route.)

    Dropsy

Because popeye proceeded the dropsy it is likely that it is a bacterial infection. I would recommend treating with an antibiotic. However, keep in mind that 1. you want to avoid antibiotics that are likely to cause kidney damage since the kidneys are already compromised in dropsy and 2. make...

    Columnaris Help Please

I agree with a 2-drug regimen of the Furan 2 and Kanaplex once it arrives for the affected fish. Hard to say whether the Columnaris being in your main tank will be a problem or not because some people say it is present in most aquariums while others say it will always cause disease when...

    Dwarf Pike or Kuhli loaches

I can't offer any info on the dwarf pike but I do have kuhli loaches. I have 4 in a 20 long with 9 cories. (All of the action in my tank is on the bottom ?) Back when I had only 2 kuhlis I hardly saw them but after adding 2 more they're out and about a lot more. I think having enough of them and...

    Accidental Peppered Cory baby

Did your Costia resolve? I had a persistent problem with this a while back and after trying a few different treatments Paragard worked. I treated for 3 weeks at 75% dose (50% for the first few days)

How often to feed the corys

I feed mine once a day. Some people feed theirs twice a day. It’s supposed to be better to feed a smaller amount of food more often. It more closely mimics what would be natural for them rather than eating a lot at once and then nothing for a while. But daily is convenient and seems to work well...

    Corydoras Sterbai Sick

I know this is an old thread, but in case someone out there is combing through online forums trying to figure out what disease their cory has, I believe the cory in this picture has costia. The following scenario happened to me over the course of probably a year or so: I introduced a new...
