I think this is part of the root of a mature crypt. I dug some up when I renewed my tank last year. I just stuck them in the gravel with the leaves pointing up and away they went. :good:

If you leave it you may well end up with quite a few little swords on there. I leave them as they fill in the the spaces higher in the tank.

No worries. I'm quite pleased with the edge, access is a bit tricky and the bog wood was a right pain to get in there but on the whole I like it. Plus can't have shrimp in the other one lol.

Hi Toady. thanks for the interest. Size is 72" x 22" x 30" high, about 750 lts. Plants; various crypts, anubias, amazons, ludwigia, I am battling bba at the minute so its not looking at its best.

The one at Dukeries aint bad. And not far from sheffield.

If it's the very fine bagged sand that you put between the paving, it's actually a silica sand originally used in the making of china clay. I personally would not use it in my tank, as I think over a period of time it would become almost solid. If it is the courser washed or grit sand used...

Yeh, bit OTT. sounds like a good idea, what do plan on making it out of?

sounds unusual to me. Do you inject co2 into the tank? As this can upset clowns if there is to much of it, mine are always the first to react if the balance isn't quite right. Try more frequent water changes, see if that helps.

We just just leave the eggs and then the fry in the tank with the parent fish. They make very good parents and guard over both eggs and fry.
