I have 4 and have no issues with them being territorial. Mine have been on sand and all do great, soil will be fine.

Hi, I keep elephant noses my oldest will be 11yrs in a couple of months. Definitely get sand easier and gentle on their chins, lots of hiding places my oldest really loves his pvc pipe and my others prefer hiding in my plants! Peaceful fish, nothing that can out compete the elephant for food...

I'll add some tall plants for her at either end just for extra hide. Thank you for your help

The congo don't bother her at all, very peaceful fish they're to busy chasing each other. Whatever is happening is during the night I don't know if she's getting bumped when I feed my elephant nose?

Hi I have had my angelfish for around 6mth, a couple of days ago I noticed her fin torn I've been giving clean water daily, got up this morning and there's another rip. Haven't seen her being harassed by others but it could be happening at night. She shares the tank with congo tetra 9 of them...

Thank you, I miss not having them.

I have a lid on my tank, but hadn't seen them try to crawl out they usually spent most of the time crawling through the plants and sand. If nothing bothers them in the tank they'll be fine.

I kept these little guys a few years ago and loved them! Once they settled in they would be scurrying everywhere. They loved hikari crab cuisine and would grab what they needed and run! Definitely worth having and it's something I've been thinking about myself. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

I have 3, 2 are 5yrs old. Mine are kept with shrimp, hillstream loach, chilli rasbora and snails, you don't want anything that can snack on these guys especially when they molt.

I have a lava snail it's actually 9yrs old, it can disappear for weeks out of sight and I also wonder if she's died. Mine usually moves about at night very rarely do I see her during the day she burrows under the sand. She's probably burrowed somewhere and moving about in the dark. Hopefully...

This might sound dumb but I have a lid on my tank how will the pipes come over? Should I cut a hole for them as I'm not keen on removing the lid. Thanks

Yeah I looked at the 407 but thought it would be to big for my tank? That's why I thought the 406. I'll definitely go and look again. Thank you

In my tanks I keep my elephant noses and Congo tetra. My other tank has my boraras, rainbow gobies, hillstream loach. Also vampire shrimp, bamboo shrimp, rcs, 1 green lace shrimp who is 7 year's old, amano shrimp 9years old, and different snails,tylo, mystery, giant Colombian ramshorn.

She sadly died this afternoon 😔 😢 I don't think I'll be buying anymore plecos for my elephant nose tank as I'd hate to lose anymore. Thank you for the help.

Hikari wafers or pellets. Bloodworm, brine shrimp, daphnia and chopped frozen prawn but these are for the elephant noses, I haven't been putting anything in for 2 days. I'm seriously thinking of giving her a Epsom salt bath.
