I have a t8 18” florescent 7500k aquarium bulb, I think it might be rubbish. It also gets coated in lime scale... I’ve removed the dying anacharis and put it in a jar in the window. It already looks better

The generic bulb is a syvania, the Arcadia I have is 7500k but I can get glolife bulbs in my country so I will try that next I think and stick to less varied plants.

It is one half of a 10 gallon with a weeping moss divider, so 5 gallon really.

The plants are limnophila, rotala rotundifolia, guppy grass, aponogenetan crisps, corkscrew vallis, watersprite, weeping moss and ludwigia repens. I suspect it is massively over planted but I have plans for the trimmings.

I think you are right. I never realised how many others things could go wrong with beginner “easy” fish like guppies

With their fierce reputation you expect them to hold their own. I’m quite sure I would have come back to the same situation if I hadn’t stopped to watch how they interact. I should have guessed though as I’ve seen my male guppies gang up before, usually on the weakest/smallest.
