What actually is this slime that has built up on the pump tube. It only builds up on the tube and no where else really.

Can you check that online ? or do you need to do a test to prove weather the water from my tap is chlorine or chloramines ? So do you put the dose in the tank, and then add the water ? or do you pour the dose in as the tap water is flowing in to the tank ?

Hi Gary, when you dechlorinate the tank before adding in the new tap water. Do you you add a dosage that covers the whole tanks volume, or do you add a dosage that covers only the volume of the water that you are adding ?

If I may jump in on this. I’m currently going through something similar. My pH levels had risen in my tank due to a rock. my Tank was reading a pH of 7.4 but my tap water is a pH is 6.8 / 7.0 I had taken the rock out, done a water change and the pH did drop slightly to about 7.0 / 7.2. Then...

those measurements is the full tank on the outside including the lid which is quite bulky, and also includes the outer lip of the base. I’ve just measured the tank up to where the water level is and not including the base. I get roughly 31cm x 38cm x 40.5cm. This comes out at 47.7 litres. So 48...

i didn’t check the GH of the other two. and i have emptied them out. but i’ve just done a GH of my tap water and that is only 3

I have repeated the test, and the pH for the sand and water alone has stayed the same. and the pH for the rock has slightly increased. as for the GH, the GH of the rock water is 6 the same as the water in my tank.
