I am free to post my opinions also, that's what forums are about.

Our tank has begun....All natural no chemicals.

You've referred to the fish being "flushed down the loo" twice now, as if that's an acceptable thing to do with unwanted fish, which it definitely isn't. Sounds like your friend has it coming to him and needs a good slap and reporting to the RSPCA.

    Betta Tank

Definitely you will get dust etc collecting in the water, even traffic fumes through an open window if you are in a very urban area of London. I would put a lid on it, especially if you intend to put a Betta inside. I know you said before that your Betta doesn't jump, but the change in visual...

    Popeye treatment

Really disappointed to read that, Colin. OP, Please do a little research on the Clove oil method and put him down that way if you have to, and don't pluck him out of the water, wrap him in a towel and smash his head in. I've never done it myself, but apparently you need to add a small dose to...

New Micro Tank! (13 L Tank) Where Do I Start?

Please don't put Betta or any fish inside, some say you can do it, but they really need a bit more space to be happy, and it will be difficult to keep a smaller tank like that stable in temperature and water quality. I would keep this as either a quarantine tank, or perhaps for raising Brine...

    Betta White Growth

I think you need to get him into a bigger tank as soon as you can. Perhaps it's illness from stress from too confined a space. Ammonia will build up quick in a small tank and temperature could fluctuate.

Tetra Starter Line 105 litre tank - Opinions?

Wow... that makes things even better. This way I can have the blue and white lights on separate timers, which is the main problem I have with my current tank, I have to change from white to white/blue, to blue manually, which is an annoyance, especially as after the blue light goes off at night...

Tetra Starter Line 105 litre tank - Opinions?

I do not see how. At £125 for a 105 litre tank it's still a good price, even without the accessories. In my first post it says I will be using a different heater and a sponge filter. Plus half the problem is transporting the thing, but this tank I could pick up just over the road from Argos...

    Any model painters here?

Actually I'm no longer a fan, and boycotted GW for several years (until this Xmas actually, when Steam put Vermintide II down to £6.90 in the winter sale). Other than that I try not to spend a penny with them, but did buy a few paints when I was doing my Saxons.

    Any model painters here?

This one is 10.5 inches high, and looks like a much better option for you.. Penn Plax Wizards Castle - Amazon US $19.72. I have ALWAYS wanted this, but it's just a bit too large for me. Castle walls I showed you earlier $18.99 from Amazon US. Castle walls with airstone $20.99 Amazon US. Just...

Tetra Starter Line 105 litre tank - Opinions?

Thanks to 2tank, seangee, and AquaBarb for the replies. Particularly good to hear from somebody who owns this tank. Are the two bulbs controlled independently (I.E a lightswitch for each bulb)? I want to be able to use one or the other, and sometimes both at the same time, or will adding a...

    Any model painters here?

I would probably get something like this instead: Aquarium castle There's plenty of that type of thing if you shop around. Why make things complicated and paint it yourself?

Tetra Starter Line 105 litre tank - Opinions?

So I have been looking at upgrading or possibly starting a new tank for a while, and I have come across the 'Tetra Starter Line' tank, which is a 105 litre tank, for just £125. Seems too good to be true, so I looked at reviews online and they appear to be quite good. I am quite dubious about...

    10 Gallon(Kids room)

Looks nice, I would definitely add another 5 Tetras though, else they may start nipping at the Guppies.

    Betta Tank

Very strange, because I keep a Betta in a 40 litre tank, and I have also been looking at setting up a new 'Shallow tank', but I have decided I will probably need to use a larger tank and only half-fill it to achieve what I want to do, as I haven't been able to find a shallow tank with a lid, to...

Burying my old deceased Betta Fish (inside the tank?)

Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking at Lucky Bamboo when a Money Tree and a Ficus Genseng Bonsai caught my eye, and I decided it would be one of those instead, but now I have changed my mind with this latest suggestion and I plan to use a Peace Lily for the mausoleum. The little white...

Burying my old deceased Betta Fish (inside the tank?)

That's alright, he died quite some time ago, back in June. I've had him in the freezer ever since, and recently got a new Betta I called Witta.

Burying my old deceased Betta Fish (inside the tank?)

Ok, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I've kept a few houseplants in my time, but know very little about them. Anyone have any suggestions on types of plants to use and how to do it right?

Burying my old deceased Betta Fish (inside the tank?)

Ok, thanks Colin. I don't have a garden and I'm going to go with the plant/pot burial if that's what you say. Anyone have any ideas on the plant pot burial? Should I bury him with an already established plant, or plant something from seed?

Burying my old deceased Betta Fish (inside the tank?)

I wasn't really sure which forum to post this in, this or the 'Planted tanks' section. It deals with the rather odd question of what to do with the remains of a former pet fish, something I'm sure many of us here have had to do at some point. So rather shamefully I still have my first Betta...

    Bilbo the Betta fish

If he is picky then I would suggest giving him live food, such as; Small Bloodworms, Daphnia, Brine Shrimp, Tubifex, Glassworms (mosquito larvae), Copepods, and Mysis Shrimp. Always make sure it's fresh and feed in small amounts. I'd also recommend getting live plants as it will benefit your...

    Missing fish?

Jesus, sounds like a big mess. Keeping all those fish together in a tank you've only had for a week? Talk about diving off in the deep end. Unfortunately my feeling is there is very little hope for your fish.

Betta with an eye-deformity. Should I buy?

She is doing very well, she zips about every square inch of the tank and loves looking at everything in there, as well as chilling out under the floating plants, and occasionally getting inside the Robot Dog... No where near finished planting out the tank yet, but it was a hurry to get her...

Betta Sorority (6 Month Update) (Comments/Advice/Guidance Welcomed!)

Here's quote from one of the moderators here, on keeping Sorority tanks; I think I'd be less worried about water quality, and more worried about the stress the fish will be under, all co-existing in that amount of space.

Betta Sorority (6 Month Update) (Comments/Advice/Guidance Welcomed!)

Seems a bit overstocked to me, I would think the fish are a bit stressed all living in a 60L. Some users here advise against keeping a sorority in any size of tank, as they can appear to work at first, but then go horribly wrong with disease due to stress. I keep 1 betta in 40 litres, and I...

Betta with an eye-deformity. Should I buy?

Thanks a lot, I saw this message just in time, and decided to switch off the blue light when I went to bed at 10.30pm. She's very active and seems very inquisitive. As soon as I got home I looked into the tank and she stopped swimming and I saw her eye lock right on me, then she swam right up...

Betta with an eye-deformity. Should I buy?

As she has been in the dark for two days, and is right now quite active, and may not yet have a place to sleep, so I as thinking about leaving some low blue light on overnight whilst she settles in then switch it off at 5.30 when i get ups, is that a good idea or not? Betta with an eye-deformity. Should I buy?

Well, it seemed to go really well, I've named her 'Witta', and here is the video of her release into the tank (She starts chasing Cherry Shrimp at about 25 seconds....) WITTA'S Release I left the tank lights off and the room was still dim, I'll get some better pics and vids once I've switched...

Betta with an eye-deformity. Should I buy?

Real quick one, as obviously I'm a bit busy, but she made it. Im still in mostly darkness and I'm floating the bag right now. The heat pack was still warm the bag with fish/water seems warm enough. Will update fully tomorrow with pics and video. Thanks a lot everyone!!!

Betta with an eye-deformity. Should I buy?

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. I've been in contact with the seller and she says: " She's not in the cold. She has heat pack with 40h. Let me know when she'll arrive tomorrow. Sorry but it's not my fault. " It's due to get very cold this morning aswell. I just checked the temp of...
