The tap water is 0 for both Nitrite and Nitrate. So I'm not sure what's happening. I'll keep up with water changes Daily and see. I've not changed anything for weeks apart from weekly water changes.

Thanks. I did a big water change and tested 24hrs later and the levels are the same. 40ppm Nitrate and 0.25 Nitrite Ammonia has staied at 0. Another water change tonight and I'll test again In 24.

Just purchased the Aquarium Lab Test Kit to test my water parameters. Whens the best time to test? Should I test stright after a water change? Did a test after my Weekly water change and the nitrate was 40ppm after a 20% water change. Should I do another water change? PH - between6.5 and 7...

You do indeed. I have a crown tail Betta and 2 Platys (my wife (and daughter) like them, happy wife happy life 😂) I have a few Pepper Corys and a few Bronze. I want to add some more plants for a bit more coverage along the back and side. Think I'm at my limit of fish for a 55l.
