WAIT.... I used the ammonia calculator to see how much the ammonia on my test kit had to be to harm fish. The answer was 12.5 PPM. That's a lot, considering the API test kit only measures to 8ppm. Here's a video of the fish (if it works lol)

This is so helpful! Yes my aquarium uses an NH3 and NH4 Test kit(API). My pH is 6.8, temp 26, ammonia 0.15, these are my results. NH3 Concentration: 0.0006ppm. Yay! Thanks @TwoTankAmin for this valuable info.

I'm going for black neons. Is this ok: 20 Cardinals 14 Rummynose Tetra 9 Black Neon Tetra. Would 2 Pearl Gouramis be ok to keep in this community tank? or would 2 Dwarf Gouramis be better?

it's 55 gallons. I don't think it's small. I checked Aqadvisor, it said 78% stocking level.

I get the apistos online due to none at the pet shop. but borelli is out of stock.

I got only 3 because this tank is not cycled(it's 10g) and I didn't want to risk an ammonia spike. As stated in my other thread, I will be moving them to the 55g when I get enough plants to control ammonia in there. I'm getting the next 3 fish when the ammonia reads 0 for a few days. Right now...

Usually I just add water into my Dophin 200 and turn it on, it works fine. Sorry, but I can't help with this thread. :(

At night when I check my fish, when they are sleeping(just sitting still) their noses are not red but are faded. I haven't had fish before so is this normal?

One of my 3 rummynose tetras is thin(he was like that when got him from the pet shop) and tattered. He was fine when he arrived, but now his fins are tattered and he doesn't come to the front of the tank to play with the 2 other tetras, he sits at the back hiding behind the driftwood. @itiwhetu...

I'm not sure, I'm a fishkeeping beginner, but I think pea puffers do eat pest snails. Update: I posted this in the other thread, but it was moved here. Agree with the other replies!

He's the smallest of them all. He does eat the fish food that they eat though, but the other tetras usually get most of it before he does. I do observe him during feeding times.
