Afternoon all 👋🏻 just had a call from the store saying the fish haven’t passed the quarantine inspection so they won’t be sending any once again! I cancelled the order and will probably end up just getting something locally that’s ready to go.

Another two days can’t hurt, we’ve waited patiently for 7 weeks now 🤗

Just got a call to say my fish aren’t being shipped today as the store had a power cut due to storms and some of my batch died :( They do have rolling stock though so the next batch will come out on Wednesday for Thursday delivery 📦

Today I went to shoot a flat and the guy had two big fish in a huge tank.. the lights were off and I saw one Congo tetra and one Denison Barb 😍 another smaller tank was full of harlequin rasbora 🙌 Came home and did a 50% wc and bought some more decolorinator at the lfs. 5 days til my fish arrive 🙌

I had a canon 600d before mine and to start with I wasn’t happy with the colours the mirrorless was producing and I also find the highlights and shadows lacking compared to a mirrored one. Hope you find the 7 to be great 😊

I’m sure this is why all the YouTubers switch up their tanks.. either gets unmanageable or they get bored of the scape.. do you have a small tank you could maybe split the plants and store half?

I spent about two hours on maintenance today, small gravel vac, weeding, pruning, water change and got the heater out to match the temps this time. Added a backdrop of some olive green card that I had lying around the house and inserted my teabags into the U2 :) sat here now and can see loads...

Today I’m going to be stuffing these empty T-bag cases with some polyfil.. the teabags on their own are fantastic but looking to clear it some more. No chemicals added to the filling btw :)

From installation to current day, weekly photos of aquarium progress and plant growth.

First fill of new fish tank, added two pieces of Java fern and some moss/algae balls

Added some vallis and juncus repens

More plants purchased for the aquarium. Cryptocoryne willisii, Cryptocoryne beckettii, Limnophila, Bacopa caroliniana, hygrophilia polyspema, water lettuce.

Plants growing in nicely, added a piece of driftwood. Now also home to two Amano shrimp.

Second piece of driftwood added to aquarium and 20 x celestial pearl danios ordered. Two more Amano shrimp purchased.

Removal of castle and addition of dragon stone.

Luckily we have a huge silver birch that shades the lawn so it doesn’t grow so fast :)

We did ours twice, not had a lot of rain this year, so just let it be. We might keep it thick for the winter, might help the birds :) and it’s a great excuse to be lazy 😂

Today my son and I put some dragon stone into the tank because we like how it looks similar to the wood. it’s been soaking for two days as one big lump but today we dropped it from a height and it broke up great. Washed the rest down with the shower and a tooth brush & I think this is the final...

Got my email from the fish store yesterday:) They say I can have my fish as early as Tuesday, I’ve requested delivery on either the 25th or 26th oct so we will be getting our new house mates for October school half term holiday 🤗 Pic :- 4 little amanos (I got two more) happy on this little piece...
