VOTE NOW..September 2020 Tank of the Month (16 US gallons and smaller)

My newly set up tank, 30L Superfish Cubiq, for the betta I have reserved It has two Anubias plants, one Cryptocoryne, a bridge ornament, a little tree ornament and floating Salvinia Auriculata. I use Argos play sand as the substrate.

    Stocking a 12 gallon.

I use Argos play sand, £5 for 15kg which goes a long way! Just give it a swish about in water and drain thoroughly a few times

    Needs a name!

Sorry to hijack this thread but I would have taken him too....they're still fish and still deserve a life. I have a betta reserved at my LFS, he has been there 6.5 weeks as he only has one eye, loads around him have sold and he kept calling to me. In fact, I seem more drawn to the ones who are...

Help with betta (fin damage, possible fin rot)

Okay, I’d recommend the API master kit. You need to test for far more than PH. How long has he been in the tank?

Help with betta (fin damage, possible fin rot)

Also, do you have a heater in there?

Help with betta (fin damage, possible fin rot)

What are your water parameters, ammonia, nitrate and nitrites? Also do you have another tank beside it? I ask because I can see a fin on the first picture.

Help with betta (fin damage, possible fin rot)

What are your water parameters? Did you totally remove your filter for a brand new media? Is he in there with another fish? If so what are they please?

    Betta is in trouble UPDATE

Surviving isn’t thriving though, and I can’t imagine this is easy for you to hear but if several people have suggested euthanasia, keeping him alive is torment for him :( He doesn’t look great and you’ve tried everything.

    Betta is in trouble UPDATE

Honestly, I’m not sure. Someone experience like @essjay @Byron or @PheonixKingZ might be along soon. The more info you can give about the tank the better. What’s he in? Do you have plants, even fake that he can rest on? Do you have a heater and what’s the temp in your tank?

Flowerhorn Cichlid with Divider, yes or no?

Trust me, no one is trying to destroy your dream, just stop you from making mistakes, some of us have learned the hard way. It will be worth the wait/new tanks/new ideas Regarding the flower horn or oscar, I’ve always viewed them as a wet pet. Like having a dog or cat. They’re so unique and I’m...

Just when I thought It was going really well.....advice please

Hello Just when I thought everything was going smoothly, I noticed my guppy was taking aaaaages to do a poo; it’s been like this well over an hour. Seems a long time? Anyway this is the same guppy I find doesn’t like the light and really only goes play with the other fishes when the light is...

Flowerhorn Cichlid with Divider, yes or no?

I completely missed the fact you have an Oscar :S I think you might have problems with Oscars and angelfish anyway?
  22. FishBearer9845

Flowerhorn Cichlid with Divider, yes or no?

Thing is, dividing a 72 gallon tank, you’re giving a flower horn 36 gallons in the end for a fish you’ve already found needs a minimum of 50 gallons. Sorry to bring you @Byron into this but I always think back to your signatures ‘It is inhumane to deprive any animal of an element it regards as...

Hello all, regulars will know I made the rookie mistake of starting a fish-in cycle; misleading store advice and not a lot of research by me :( Anyways, I feel I'm finally getting somewhere after 5 weeks of WC and testing daily- Yesterday and today with API Masterkit my tests are finally coming...

    New light advice

Hello I’ve noticed one of my guppies swims at the top by itself like it’s scared when the aquarium light is on. When the light is off, it merrily swims around with it’s friend guppies no problems. No other notable characteristics, eats well, plays and swims well, loves swimming into the air...

    Hurricane Laura

Here's hoping you stay safe <3 Here in the UK we do often get gusts (like today) but recent years we're quite susceptible to flooding :( I was always fascinated by twisters but can never appreciate fully what it must be like. Sorry I have no advice for the tanks, but just wanted to wish you well!

@essjay Homebase where I am has this one https://www.homebase.co.uk/max-strength-ammonia-500ml_p400283 Also, is it okay for me to add driftwood into the aquarium before adding the ammonia?
