    Algae removal help.

Do all your plants in the tank need the 10-12 hours of light? Are you able to use a dimmer option on the lights to prevent the harshness of it? What exact fertiliser do you use and how much/how often?

    Algae removal help.

Do you use a gravel vac? A lot of us here also change 50-75% per week including cleaning the substrate. I'm wondering if increasing this will help you?

    46 gallon bowfront stocking question

When you ask if there will be enough for the Corys to eat, I specifically feed mine something every day, I don't let them rely on the remnants as I have 6. I either feed dropping pellets, frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp or algae tablets (which they share two between the 6) They're not...

Molly fish holding in top fin and sitting at the bottom of the tank a lot

Just read through all this and wanted to reassure you that you're not failing at this or doing a bad job, I myself didn't do enough research and got bad advice from a LFS who basically fed me a load of BS, I ended up doing a fish in cycle. It wasn't the best way to start but it sure taught me so...

    Chocolate gourami has an issue

Bless lil fishy. Have you added anything to the tank? Or been doing daily water changes? Looks like scale damage but I’m not an expert.
  18. FishBearer9845

    Cloudy Eye in Glo Tetra

I would say water changes of 50-70% daily would be best until it clears. @essjay @Ch4rlie

    Sand Substrate and Live Plants

Personally I just use play sand, in the UK from Argos. Others use products from Tropica I think but the nutrients deteriorate after a year anyway, so you’d have to continue using fertiliser anyway or change the substrate. @Byron is knowledgeable as is @essjay on this
  20. FishBearer9845

    Sand Substrate and Live Plants

White sand is not advised by a large percentage of fish keepers, it is unnatural for fish to have a white base for them not to blend into.

    Fish Food

@essjay I think essay kept frogs and recommends a frog only tank for many reasons. Happily corrected but I think frogs are near blind, risk of starvation even with sinking food, and risk of thinking fish tails are food.

    Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

I imagine (I haven’t read the article but did see the headline) even if it doesn’t say it, he must have been told several times about having parties etc and just continued to flout the rules. I.e a lady was fined twice in one day £100 each time for refusing to wear a mask (no medical grounds)...

VOTE NOW!....September 2020 Pet of the Month Contest

This is our baby boy, Moo. We adopted him from Cats Protection in April 2017, at which point he was 1. He had been given up as a kitten to a household with 4 other cats. They stressed him out so he got given to Cats Protection. Well of course I hounded them (embarrassingly) and they’d told me...
