    Hi

Welcome to the forum! As far as plants online go, I like BucePlants and AquaticArts.

    Snail Invasion

First manually remove as many snails as possible. Then you can simply drop a piece of vegetable (cucumber, lettuce, broccoli etc) on a fork or skewer, wait 30 min or until covered, then remove it. You can wipe them into the trash or toss the whole piece of veg. Rinse, repeat. Or make a snail...

Looking to make a small profit with a fishkeeping project. Thoughts and advice?

I sell about $50 (sometimes more sometimes less) of water lettuce and frogbit. I also sell water spangles, duckweed, and giant duck weed. Had one guy buy like $80 of plants in one go to set up 2 40 breeder tanks.

How many tanks do you have?

I amment my previous post. I have 20 tanks now. Picked this up for $100 tank and stand. TruVu acrylic 90 gallon. It was advertised as a 60 gallon.

    Help deciding on EBA

Without the angels, I would say maybe. But the Angela and Acara might get agressive with one another. Your tank seems fully stocked to me.

It makes me think L333, honestly.

    55 Gallon Tank Stocking

Congo tetra do better in groups of 6 plus. In a 55 that gives you plenty of room for more. With the Rainbow Shark, I would forgo the khuli loaches (which also do better in groups) and maybe the rams. Once adults they get territorial and agressive towards other bottom dwellers.

    Pea puffer

They like being with one another in a big enough tank, but I would hesitate to place them with anything who's fins they could eat.

    Skinny Male Pearl Gourami

I will try target feeding for a couple weeks, and see if that helps.

I have about 40 shells in right now. Every time I add more, they spawn after about a week.

I do have some more delicate fish in the tank, like loaches and a pleco.

    Skinny Male Pearl Gourami

Do parasites only ever infect one fish? This tank hasn't had any fish added in 6+ months and the gourami have been in the tank for over 9 months.

    Rotting plant in 3gal tank?

It might be regular plant melt, the old leaves coming off so the new ones adjusted to your light and water can come in.

    Skinny Male Pearl Gourami

So, I have been waiting to see my gourami for a few months, and the signs of sexual maturity have been approaching for a bit. It comes out that I have 2 males and 3 females based upon coloration and interactions. One of the males is starting to look thinner than the other gourami, and I am...

    Identify this pleco?

It looks like a female longfin bristlenose.
  21. Circus

Adding to an additional Pleco to a Tank?

I know most plecos are agressive with conspifics, so I would be very hesitant to add a 2nd pleco in that size tank.

    New to tropical fish!

I would do, at least, a 75% water change right away. Do this daily after testing if there is any ammonia or nitrite. This is while you decide what to do going forward. The two previous posters have given some good advice, and I would work based off of that. Your best bet is returning both fish...

    Coconut fibre safe ?

I know that coconut shells are often used in the aquarium, and I remember some diy fish stuff mentioned using the coconut fibers. I believe it can even be used as a substrate or spawning mops. And of course, if you do use it make sure it is all natural/organic.

    Multiple Generation Breeding

Awesome, thank you guys! I was worried about inbreeding and whatnot, as I have seen some results of that with my shrimp. I have a couple years before I have to worry about that it seems.

    Multiple Generation Breeding

So, I just had a 2nd generation of Neolamprologus Multifasciatus, or Multi Shell Dwellers, born into my tank. Up until now it had only been the original trio (1M 2F) breeding. I added more shells last week and tonight saw itty bitty fry swimming around. I realize now that I will have to get...

FUPLIE PHONES pt2 need to vent

I hope the chocolate helps. I have eaten it melted from car heat or what I call "pocket chocolate", but I also keep a drawer full of chocolate in my fridge. Although right now it is a drawer of chocolate milk. As far as phones and tech go, I am lower to middling. I can sorta navigate the...

Any advice getting through the ranks of the Guppypocalypse

When I kept community tanks with guppies I would get Sera spirulina tabs, which stick to the glass when you press them on. Put a couple of those on one side of their tank, then some sinking pellets on the others once the guppies are sufficiently distracted.

Usually the males will each have their own harem and territory, so long as the tank is big enough.

    Turn spare tank into sump/filter?

So, I am getting to the point of switching most of my tanks from smaller to larger set ups. This is mostly so I can move around my apartment and not have to squeeze between tanks. I am loath to get rid of my double tank stands, but also do not want to keep up on maintenance on so many small...

Planted fish tank tips for 60 gallon?

I strongly suspect that subwassertang will rot if put under the substrate, as will Java ferns and anubias. The Java and anubias need their roots and rhizome exposed to the water. The subwassertang does not grow roots, but can (eventually) anchor itself in the tank. It absorbs all of its...

Planted fish tank tips for 60 gallon?

I would bend the edges around so they don't scratch any curious fish. Then you could glue the mesh to a piece of decoration. The plant is probably glued to the mesh, and may or may not stick to it long term.
  34. Circus

Planted fish tank tips for 60 gallon?

The subwassertang can not be planted. It will float around the tank, or ball up and roll around. You might be able to anchor it down. It has no roots, and is considered a type of fern, I think. It grows slowly, but looks very nice.

Whats a good website to get plants?

Buceplants and Aquatic Arts are two I have had success with. Don't go for the cheap stem plants on ebay, usually listed under "buy two, get one free", as 80% of mine died.

How many tanks do you have?

I have 19 tanks, but only 16 running right now. I am looking to get rid of some of my smaller tanks (10 to 25 gallons), but want to wait a few months so I can get a large rack to place my tanks on.

    How to clean this?

Get a small diameter hose (airline tubing would probably work), fill it with water. Set bucket on table or chair. Place an empty bucket on the ground. After filling tube with water, hold both ends shut. Place one end in fry bucket, place other end in empty bucket, then let the water flow. This...

    Sick minnow+danio+guppy?

Have you tested for Ammonia, Nitrite, or Nitrate? Red gills Tends to indicate ammonia poisoning. I would do a large water change (75% at least) for now, and do one when you test for any Nitrite or Ammonia as any amount if these is harmful to the fish.
