Best ive found to date is Pier aquatics in Wigan, just google them and have a look at there stock. It's a fluval 307, however I meant the actual visible pipes in the tank itself, I think they need to be swapped around so the outlet is the closer to the side glass and the inlet is closer to the middle of the tank

I think I have my filter intake and return pipes on the wrong way around, any clues on how to do an easy swap of them without draining the whole tank ? or does it not really matter ?

If im just doing my weekly water change the I do as @PewPewChris said, add the conditioner to a 25 litre bottle, fill up with cold water from my tap and throw a spare heater in it for a couple of days, however if im doing an extreme clean / water change,, like 50% of my water, its a 240 litre...

Just too add to this, try doing an oxygen test too, I lost a fish due to lack of oxygen in the water, make sure you take the water sample from the bottom of the tank and then test, pets at home will test your water for free, just take about 30ml into them and they will test it, normally fish...

@Silentbadger6310 Same.............but I do have an older one too, i'll have a look at it and see if theres a seal that can be replaced, they sell all sorts of replacement parts for these filters, did you fit the big O ring (motor head seal) that was in packet with the hoses and inlet / outlet...

Its common for fish to loose their colour if they are being bullied, if you see it happening, tap on the glass each time it happens, this will scare the bully away.

Thanks, theres not really any room in the new filter for the old media, unless I cut it up into small pieces and pop it into any available gaps, the sponges in the old filter are quite big.
