Cory with seemingly immobile pec fin with white fuzzy growth on tip

What is your stock for the tank? It also depends on where it is on his fin. From what I know, fungal fin rot compared to fungus on the body is two different treatments. I know @Colin_T is very knowledgeable with treatments as has said them before so I hope he will reply.

    Pregnant Molly?

she looks pregnant to me, if she were bloated, do you notice any weird swimming such as her belly turning over and her turning vertical?

    My Friend's Rotting Betta.. Help

Do they/you have any type of freshwater test kit? Typically first line of issue with fin rot is checking the water parameters. Also, what size is the tank that it is in?

Cory with seemingly immobile pec fin with white fuzzy growth on tip

It’s a little hard to tell for me, but does look like he has fin rot along with white fuzz on the edge? Typically white fuzz is a sign of a fungal infection. If it is hard and smooth, then it is a cyst of some sort and could be several things.

Baby fish! Not sure what species...

I also have fake plants in my cichlid tank no judgement! I am not sure how to tell the male and female apart. My guess is that the female is the one that would stay back with the fry more and the male is the one that would go out to scare any threat away, that’s how it was for me, but they had...

Baby fish! Not sure what species...

That one on the right is a polar blue parrot convict cichlid. The one on the left is not a albino, but to me it looks like a very young Snow White parrot cichlid(I think it’s called). I have 6 of the PB parrot convicts, and if they were breeding/trying to breed, they will become very agressive...

    Molly lethargic and losing weight

I do weekly water changes for that 29G I do 50/60% weekly. z for the nitrates there may be a very small amount but at least in my API test kit the color is very close to the 0 so might be 0.1 for example but I cannot at least do not see it above 0. My other fish are doing great it was just the...

    Molly lethargic and losing weight

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on them. From what I’ve noticed I haven’t seen any of the other fish act like her, so I think it’ll be ok but I’ll keep an eye out. For the medication, I have both mollies and cories and the tank is planted. I know catfish can be sensitive to medication, would...

    Molly lethargic and losing weight

She didnt Drop any fry, the other mollies don’t pay much attention to her, but she did pass away shortly after I made that post so sadly I saw her too late :(

    Molly lethargic and losing weight

Hello all, So I have a 29g tank and I’ve noticed the last few weeks one of my mollies has been getting lethargic and looks quite a bit skinner compared to the other lyretail mollies I have. It’s looked skinny since I got it but seems to be getting worse. She was eating fine but today when I...

    Territorial convict parrot hybrid help

Hello all, The other day I noticed one of my PB convict parrot cichlids was being very territorial over a area on the right side of my tank. Currently I took him out the tank while I clean. What are some things I could try? I have 6 of them to reduce the aggression and so one doesn’t get picked...

My syno featuring my camera loving severum

I hope he does live that long. He has been with me since I got one of my very first tanks when he was little and the size of not even an inch he was in a 10 gallon (Yes I know it wasn’t the best conditions as he was growing) but a few years ago I finally got a large tank he is now thriving in.

    Who is this visitor?

Of course I do not have any ponds or lakes near me. I cannot find him in my tank anywhere, but I do not want to wake up to a bunch of eggs hatching one day so I will get some assassin snails as someone recommended

    Sluggish betta

Your nitrates are quite high. Is it like that from your tap? Also, how long have you had him?
  15. Stefan3289

    Who is this visitor?

Only issue with that is that the tank is only a 29g that has mollies and Cories. I was originally planning on keeping puffers but decided my tank is not big enough and will cause issues down the road. Assassin snails it is!

Do you have a water testing kit to get actual numbers. What does his tank set up look like?

    Who is this visitor?

Is there anything I can add to the tank that would eat him or it’s eggs if it decides to reproduce asexually?

    Who is this visitor?

I cleaned my tank two days ago and I could not find him anywhere. I looked all around the tank, on the decor, in the plants, behind the heater and I couldn’t find him I haven’t seen him since the post. If I do find him, I will definitely return him. As for the asexual reproduction, doesn’t there...

My syno featuring my camera loving severum

Here’s both my favorite fish and also my oldest fish turning 10 years old! He was quite excited during feeding time today. Sometimes he waits in his his favorite cave till the other fish are done to get his shrimp pellets, and sometimes he gets too excited and eats all the food they miss too. He...

    Who is this visitor?

I bought them from my LFS and the tanks they had the plants in had no snails. I bought the plants in 2 separate batches (4 and 4) so maybe there were some eggs. I don’t mind having the snails in the tank as they can help control algae growth and won’t both the fish, my only worry is that they...

    More dead fish

Curious what packaging did the plants come in as I’ve never ordered live plants only fish from eBay. My only guess is that there could have been something that latched onto the plants perhaps some type of snail or other creature that brought something, and considering it’s a huge tank, it’s be...

    Guppy can’t swim horizontally

I think from past experience that he likely has some kind of issue with his swim bladder, and if that’s the case then it is sadly fatal. You can give him skinned peas or a bath in epsom salt to help alleviate symptoms but there is no cure for swim bladder disorders.

    HELP! How to save fish

What decorations, tank, and kind of substrate do you have? That also doesn’t look like ich to me, and based on the picture they look like flat small areas. If they are flat, and considering those areas are black naturally, it could be from pigment loss from other fish picking on him or him...

White dot on betta possibly ick??

I had this happen to one of my rainbow fish. I would wait to see if more spots show up, then it would indicate ich, as if it is one spot and disappears and none come back, it is likely a cyst of some sort, especially considering he is acting normal otherwise. That’s at least my opinion but I am...

    Who is this visitor?

Hello all, I sat today next to my 29 gallon aquarium and noticed near the heater there is a strange intruder. I have never bought a snail, so I’m wondering how he got into my tank? My only guess is when I bought the plants for my aquarium he must have been in one of the pots. Can anyone...

    Betta fish is sick

I am not sure about the organ part, but I know it prevents I believe oxygen entering the water at the surface so less is then available so having a oxygen pump helps break up the oil by disturbing the surface as well
  34. Stefan3289

    Betta fish is sick

There are also types of rocks I forget what they are called but unfortunately the ones I at least saw are likely too big for your tank, but possible to find smaller pieces, they are tan. As for the oxygen testing, I’m both of my tanks I have 1-2 oxygen pumps running just to be on the same side.

    *URGENT* PLEASE HELP NITRITE/AMMONIA SKPIKE

I have two tanks both of which I use prime, a 75 gallon non planted and my 29 gallon where I was having the ammonia issues and made planted. Like you said I was having issues where it would be in between 0-.25 (I just said .25 as that was the worst I saw it). What kind of plants have you tried...

    Betta fish is sick

I would not use melafix especially if there is no air pump as it decreases the amount of oxygen available in the water. It does look like fin rot and considering that your water parameters are good, I would agree with kyanite that it’s likely a bacterial fin rot and would try the betafix. I’d...

    *URGENT* PLEASE HELP NITRITE/AMMONIA SKPIKE

I use prime as well as my tap water is treated with chloramines, but there has been some skepticism as to whether prime actually does detoxify ammonia and nitrates/nitrites. i had issues with one of my tanks where the ammonia would always read around the .25 mark, and I then added plants to the...

    *URGENT* PLEASE HELP NITRITE/AMMONIA SKPIKE

Yeah it seems as if you hit a dead spot. I tried to convert one of my tanks to sand and it for me at least did no work well. Planting the plants definitely would’ve caused some debris to come up. From what I remember I was told when cleaning sand substrate it that you want to lightly stir up the...

    Ammonia spike!

What size is your tank and what was the decoration? Likely as you said you released a bunch of stuff trapped under it. Typical with spikes you want to do a large water change of around 80%. What I would do is after your 50% water change, I would wait a little for everything to settle and then do...
