How long has the tank been running?

    Lacking a gravid spot

Okay, I'm confused (no surprise there), but is this the same fish in both photos? Just with a more darker coloration? I feel like I need some more context for this to make sense to me.

Stocking ideas for a 85 gallon Community tank

You can't mix mollies/platies/guppies with goldfish. Goldfish need cooler water than mollies/platies/guppies.

Weird algae? Or baby java fern?

Looks like baby plant roots. I've got some on my plants as well.

    EMO's Eventual Aquaponic Thirty

QUESTION I've got a 40 gallon tank that was used for my bearded dragon while he was at my parents house. Can I use the sand that is in his enclosure for a fish tank if I set it up for a fish tank? I remember buying it off Amazon and it was reptile sand. It feels smooth to me.

    Saving a betta splendens

I feel like the fresh and perfect water parameters might be shocking his system. But that's just my opinion. Might have been better to do small but frequent water changes to give less of a shock to his system. But I'd listen to someone with more experience than me.

My community tank WILL NOT dare eat a pellet only flakes...?

Honestly I feel like if you wait a bit, let them get nice and hungry then feed them, they'll eat the pellets.

My community tank WILL NOT dare eat a pellet only flakes...?

I'd get the betta out of that tank. It's better suited for a five gallon all to its own. And yea, that's a pretty heavily stocked tank.

    Harlequin rasboras aggressive?

You need to add more. They are schooling fish and need to have like 10-15 in a group. Although I also believe that your tank *might* be overstocked.

Newbie looking for guidance on stocking levels

Fair. I've never understood a quarantine tank to begin with. I always thought it was weird to keep a fish separate while treating it since I'd feel bad for the fish. Someday I'll set up a quarantine tank. I've got two extra tanks lying around.

Newbie looking for guidance on stocking levels

Fair enough. I wasn't aware that it is okay to have it lightly decorated. I always thought keeping it bare helped prevent anything from getting in the substrate or on the plants that could impact another fish added later.

    Bottom feeder advice

What are your water parameters? How hard or soft is your water and what is the pH? That might help people figure out what fish would work for a bottom of the tank fish.

Newbie looking for guidance on stocking levels

I will leave this to someone more experienced. What are your water parameters? Do you have hard or soft water. That dictates what fish you can keep. You can find this from your local water source website. I think quarantine tanks are suppose to be void of items, but again, I'll leave this to a...

    Awesome shark pictures

Most shark bites are mostly test nibbles as when we are out in the open, we look like food. But we don't taste like food so they stop biting us.

I mean, most likely. I just don't know what kind of research. Wish I could have helped out though. That would have been awesome.

    Awesome shark pictures

I was in Cape May, NJ one year and went to the beach after the lifeguards left and that's when all the fisherman come out to play. Watched a research team catching sharks and got within inches of their catches. It was so cool to see. I forget why they were catching the sharks. I just knew it...

    What Fish is This

Yea, I know in the US I think they are mostly illegal due to being able to thrive in our waterways. They might be found in some places for food, but I think they have to be dead in order to be sold.

Fish dying at rapid rate. HELP

Legit anytime I've seen a dead fish in my tank I immediately do a big water change after testing the parameters to make sure it wasn't a spike.

    fish killer mystery

I'll add my two cents, but I think you need more corydoas and more tetras as they are both schooling fish. If anyone else has something add I'd go with what they say first. Also, water parameters are also helpful.

    EMO's Eventual Aquaponic Thirty

Awesome! Thank you for the input. I'm debating letting the cories pass on as I can't seem to keep them alive while it seems like the mollies and platies are doing great.

    EMO's Eventual Aquaponic Thirty

Opinions? I just saw some white skirted tetras at PetCo and I'm debated getting some. Would they work in my thirty gallon tank and would they get along with the mollies, platies, and cory cats? Also, they had two betta fish in with other fish and I felt so bad for the betta. I almost bough two...
