    Dipping Into The Salty Side

So I have most of the pieces in place for the new tank for the bubble coral. I am just waiting on the light as well as a surge outlet/strip. I just pulled the baffle/sump area off the Fluval Evo 13.5 gallon as it wasn't working well for my sister, and I have read a lot of reviews from others...

    Dipping Into The Salty Side

So sis and I went to aquashella this past Saturday and picked up a couple corals. I got a bubble Coral, a mushroom coral, a ricordia, and an acans. Unfortunately one of our clownfish is picking at the bubble Coral so I may be moving it into a different saltwater tank. I really don't want to set...

    Air stone in planted aquarium?

I agree with many of the previous comments. A hillstream loach needs cooler waters and a current which would normally provide more oxygenated waters. An alternate way to provide current and more oxygen would be to use a current maker in your tank and have it angled towards the surface, breaking...

unusual plants you have or are growing in your aquarium...

So am in the basement cleaning up for some tank rearranging possibly Sunday and finally remembered to get some pics  The threesome, oldest on the right, the cutting I took on the left and the budding in the center. Oddly enough the bud came off the cutting. The original, was the...

    Could plants fix this issue?

What's the substrate? If it's baked clay/dirt then it's just going to keep breaking up and literally falling into pieces (mulm). I have the Fluval stratum in a 6 gallon and have to break the tank down (shrimp tank, will be so much fun to break down) to empty the now mostly mulm and replace it...

    Additions to my cleanup crew

So couple months ago I merged my 20 long and my sister's Fluval 13 1/2 gallon into a 38 gallon tank. We've been holding off adding really anything to the tank because we are going to be going to aquashella in August in Chicago and hopefully coming home with some new corals and maybe a fish I...

I have an Igawazo 2009 in my 20 long. She was rare when I got her years ago and then we moved and I neglected her. Thankfully she survived (just barely) and I coaxed her back to life. She only replicates by either cutting at the root/rhizome or if she is happy she will bud off at the base. I...

    Slimmed Down Fish Room Journal

Got a new fish today, Neosilurus ater. It's a very rare catfish from Australia that gets to be about 16 to 18 in when fully grown. Unlike most large catfish it eats small invertebrates, it has a very little mouth. Like it's salt water relatives, it is highly venomous and if you make a mistake...

    GIANT GOURAMI HELP

Clean water is the best remedy. Keep the water clean with frequent water changes. Medications and salt will just stress her/him out more. Also I hope she/he is in a different tank than with the other gourami.
