Having had duckweed and (unfortunately) still having duckweed; I have one question...why???
Once you have it you will not want it...trust me.
And I would not put anything from natural waters in my tanks, call me cautious or just call me 🐔
Today was a busy day for me. Started off with taking the car for oil change at 7am (gotta learn how to do it myself). Then did some straighten/cleaning till the car was done. After I got the car I went to get some Chemi-Clean to deal with the cyano in my 10 gallon salt tank. Ran some other...
Hengeli; espie have orange bodies, vs the silver body with the orange spot and line from behind gills to tail that is common for the hengeli.

I promise we walked around outside too but this was the greenhouses that we went through. There were some magnolias and a lot of spring bulbs blooming but I saved my camera for the greenhouses, there were three.
Agree, it's a fantail. Shubinkin have different bodies, more elongated like comets. They are more pond fish vs aquarium fish as they are built to move vs fancies that but wiggle around (exception would be fantails as IME they are the most mobile of the fancy variety).
On our way to the Chicago Botanic Garden (in Glencoe, IL). Last time I was here was when my Sister was in a stroller, Sis has been there more recently. There is a 13 year age gap between the two of us.
Those two bettas went downstairs in their own RODI/softwater 5 gallon tank. I also added three more five gallon tanks in the hope of keeping other small bettas ( api api jade and burdigala) however the other beta species haven't been doing as well as these. These wound up having four babies...
Oh boy...
Haven't done an update on this tank in a very long time, coming up to a year.
The tiger shrimp are doing well. The green and albino tetras have dwindled in numbers and I tried to add a small pleco to the tank, it didn't work and s/he disappeared but that was in May/June.
Would like...
Apple=mystery snails? 1-2 gallons is too small as they tend to get large and are pretty prolific poopers for snails. Ramshorn would do well, but rabbit can also get too big for a 1-2 gallon as well.
Yeah, I was very surprised with their actions as they seemed to be late 20's. Theater wasn't full at all with maybe 10 people, but those 4 did ruin it for us.
Many of the fancy goldfish have the same issues and need to be kept with similar fish. I remember having fantails as a kid and they were already prone to issued. Seems they have been breeding them to extreme and I personally don't find them attractive. I tried keeping some oranda and ranchu...
Soft water isn't really good for snail's shell unfortunately, any snail...nerite, ramshorn, mystery, pagoda, rabbit, fanus...they all need harder waters...even pond/bladder snails will eventually suffer from softwater. (Lol)
Went to see D&D, it was good...the 4 adult males sitting right behind us kicking the chairs, shouting male genetalia vocabulary, snoring and talking during the movie...not so great.👶🚼
As mentioned before and above, rope fish are carnivores/predatory so will go after the khulis.
The fish you currently have are either lower/bottom level or not schooling. What you seem to be looking for is a schooling fish. You can look for one that matches the tank water parameters.
I...
While since any updates on the basement aquarium menagerie. We are minus the 75 acrylic tank, have still to empty the gravel and haul the tank outside. Everyone is doing well; the majority went into the mostly empty but running 40 breeder withe the exception of an opaline gourami, a moonlight...
The rope fish will eat your khulis. They may be slow and blind but they will still eat them. That tank is pretty well stocked I don't know if you should put rope fish in there. What are the dimensions on the tank if it's not long enough you definitely should not put rope fish in there.
