    "Interactiv" fish

I had one in a 55 gallon for a long time without a lid. One morning I found him on the floor dried up. So I don't think I'll keep them again without a lid.

Another thing about Panda Garras, make sure to have a lid on the tank. They will jump out.

    Evening by the pond

40 gallon pond in my backyard next to the porch. Fish: Rosy Red Minnows (7) & Male Guppy juveniles [Dragon/Panda Hybrid] (23) that I raised from fry. There's many tadpoles, and I saw a couple baby toads too yesterday. Plants: Duckweed, Frogbit, Louisiana Iris Bog Plant - Dixie Deb, Water Poppy

How much water to take out in water change, and otocinclus

I completely agree that frequent water changes are a good thing for all the reasons that 10 Tanks is saying and Byron posted about. I've followed that credence since reading it in the past. I don't agree that large changes are needed if the nitrates are lower. I agree that more and larger water...

How much water to take out in water change, and otocinclus

I keep 6 different tanks of different sizes ( 3 gallon to 55 gallon), and a 40 gallon pond. The pond almost never has any nitrates but phosphates do build up. I don't change the water in the pond that much. I figure how much water to change based on nitrate levels. If there's relativley low to...

    Methylene Blue vs Antibiotics Treatment

Everyone here talking about there's no fish doctors to diagnose properly got me thinking, what if there is? Has anyone ever used this online service? www.askaveterinarianonline.com If there isn't a good existing vet service for fish, I would think that could be a lucrative business since...

    How To Increase Flow

This device might help. It sucks water from the top and pushes it down, creating flow at the bottom of the tank, and cleaning up the surface water. Surface Skimmer (Amazon) I've had BGA on a couple of tanks and one to two treatments of Ultralife Blue Green Slime Stain Remover (Amazon) fixed it...

    Methylene Blue vs Antibiotics Treatment

I always move sick fish to a different container to med if it's only a couple fish affected. No sense in messing up a whole tank unless the whole tank is affected. I've been using mason jars (I keep smaller fish). I hatched cory eggs which are now juveniles starting with Methylene Blue for the...

    Two aquarium questions

I've had a terrible green hair algae issue in a 5 gallon for a while. I've recently just cut the artificial light altogether. The tank gets indirect sunlight from the windows and floating plants and other plants in the tank are growing although slower then before. I actually like that the...

My first saltwater tank - Aqueon Frameless Cube Aquarium, 3 Gallon

Added new Scoly coral today, and 3 Astrea snails. And the leather toadstool has completely detatched from original rock it came on.

    Corydoras aeneus Fry

They are full on juvenile corys now! Been moved out of the 3 gallon and to a 10 gallon for about 2 weeks now. They probably would have grown faster had I been more aggressive with feeding but have recently ramped it up since moving them to the 10 gallon.

My first saltwater tank - Aqueon Frameless Cube Aquarium, 3 Gallon

The toadstool leather coral has all but retracted from the original rock it was attached to when I bought it. It's now firmly girpping the rock it was rested on when put in the tank. I assume the smaller head that has been growing will take over the rock eventually. The zoa I had before wasn't...

    No Giant Danio Fry

Hey! We lost power on Thursday and it was restored on Saturday morning. I ran a geneator to keep the fridges/freezers and fish tank airation running. We also have small portable a/c unit and ran that at night. It was cool outside so wasn't that bad. Could have been worse, we lost power back in...

    No Giant Danio Fry

I bought a few long fin zebra danios a while back and put them in an outdoor 40 gallon pond. They reproduced but only had a couple fry. Had to move them in during winter and they been indoor aquarium fish since. Not seen them breed since then.

Do you guys not like tank backgrounds???

Yeah, I'm being picky for sure for my 55 gallon. I had this self-adhesive one and really liked it but it just didn't stick right because of the tight space to try and install it. Amazon Might just get it again and try to pin it up instead of stick it on the back, that way if I find another one I...

Do you guys not like tank backgrounds???

I tried to put a background on my 55 gallon tank after the fact but not enough space. I need something like a cloth or vinyl and I can attach using velcro. I guess the sticky ones would work too just don't take the sticker off and just hang it there. I have vinyl ones on two of smaller tanks I...

    ADA 60F - rescape

They are most likley cherry shrimp then. I wasn't aware about the brackish water for breeding amano. I bought some amano a while back but got a chocolate colored cherry instead. I also purchase more amano later on and there's still a couple of them in there. I'm a very novice shrimp keeper.

    ADA 60F - rescape

Yes, I believe it started on the wood in my tank, then eventually went everywhere as you described. It's a losing battle once it gets that bad I think. I have ammano shrimp in there now, they made babies, still not making much of dent in the issue though.

    ADA 60F - rescape

I have this green hair algae issue in a small tank I have. I was watching a YouTube video and they were talking about hair algae and said that it is more prolific if you have a lot of wood to water ratio. It was due to the wood slowly decomposing and feeding the algae, which is the reason it's...

    Tank Set Up for Fry

The thing about ornaments though is that you can remove them to clean the tank. Just don't push them into the substrate.

How am I supposed to make my new redsea reef ATO+ auto top off system work properly?

I'd be curious to know the outcome. I've had no success with cheaper optical sensors with them having the same issue of going way past the sensors level. I don't use the ATO sensor anymore I just manually turn on the ATO once a day. This is on a small 3 gallon reef only tank so no biggie. I...

It takes a long time for salt to get out of an aquarium…

TDS meter for the TDS. Amazon I use this one to test my RO/DI water before mixing for saltwater to make sure the filters are still working good. Oh, looks like they have a 4 in 1 meter that does both salt as well Amazon
