    Tank temperature plummeting

No a heater wouldn't make the water colder. It sounds like the heater stopped working. As far as how cold it got since the heater stopped working, maybe the tank is in the way of an air conditioner output vent?

I think they get too big from what I was reading. I'm pretty limited with this size. Hopefully I can get a larger saltwater tank going some day.

    Adding Fish

I'm pretty sure you can add plants during a fishless cycle. I'd let some other's answer to be sure though.

    Adding Fish

There are detailed steps for each method of cycling on this forum. This link sends you to the Planted silent cycle steps --> https://www.fishforums.net/threads/planted-silent-cycling.470400/ It briefly describes the 3 cycle methods, and then you can make a decision on which one you want to use.

    Adding Fish

Most of the time fish stores have the same water flowing through all the tanks. So, it doesn't matter which tank you grabbed the fish from they would all been affected. Yes, your quarantine tank should be cycled. You can make the process pretty much instant if you have established filter media...

    Adding Fish

This is always a good idea if you have existing healthy fish in a tank. I made the mistake recently of not quarantining. The whole stock I bought died within a day and took a couple of my existing fish with them. Never again.

Inherited tank.. Need help to ID occupants

I don't think it is a Panda Garra either. I'm thinking a Otocinclus as it is more slender and has white and black striped pattern. Panda Garra are usually black and yellowish/brown striped and a bit more broader in size.

    Newer to the hobby.

I've used the Fritz PRO - Ammonium Chloride and it works great as well for a fishless cycle. You can see the options for cycling a tank here --> https://www.fishforums.net/threads/cycle-your-tank-a-complete-guide-for-beginners.475055/

    Help! Honey gouramis unwell

I had one of my angelfish get stuck in a little archway on a big castle. Had to push the fish through with a bit of force and it got scraped up on the side and lost it's ventricle fins in the process. One of them grew back but the other is stunted. Needless to say the castle came out after that.

    Cleaning and water changes complete!

Oh very nice! I did do goldfish my first year that I started the pond and they got way too big and I had algea issues and it's just way too hot in summer. More cover is in order for it if I want to put fish in there and even then I would need to do something more to keep it cooler. It's only 40...

    Cleaning and water changes complete!

Yeah, I get this growth in my back yard pond. I went crazy the past few weeks. But very much wanted to stop the algea. Lot of hornworth in the water. Floaters are water spangles that came from overgrowth in aquaruims. And also some frogbit. I think the NICREW lights will help with the...

They all come with a dimmer for white and blue. There's more granularity in dimmer settings if you get the SkyLED one.

The bottom right is my betta and red cherry shrimp 5 gallon tank. It is also using the white/blue Nicrew light at a dimmer setting then the other tanks. I started this tank on 4/7/23 and used Fluval Bio Stratum. Planted seeds in the substrate when I started it. There's also some Dwarf...

Yes that's correct, it's a 55 gallon. I started this tank on 5/25/2022. The 55 gallon is using a NICREW ClassicLED Aquarium Light, Fish Tank Light with Extendable Brackets, White and Blue LEDs The one one the bottom left I just replaced the white blue with a NICREW SkyLED Plus Aquarium Plant...

Is it worth emptying a tank to get rid of snails?

I have used a couple assasin snails before with success but I did so before the pest snails became a real problem. Those assasin snails are still alive btw but they get food from leftovers that I feed the fish. If you have a large amount of pest snails I'd imagine you needs a bigger amount of...

Water quality - What & How

That looks nice! But it's very expensive and I just read a review that said the manufacturer didn't produce any new testing disks for the device in a span of two years, rendering the device useless. I wouldn't buy it for that price and the testing disks not be available.
