Is it safe to use hydrogen peroxide to remove algae in tank?

I have used it to treat black beard algae on some anubias and it works. I removed the plants and used a spray bottle to spray the hydrogen peroxide.

Chances of platy fry surviving in community tank.

I have had several survive, just had one in a tank full of guppies that made it to adulthood too. Having plenty of hiding places helps a lot.

    Hi TFF!

I use test pens for hardness and PH. They are not expensive and easy to use espically the TDS-3 which is very accurate.

    Hi TFF!

Where I live we have hard water also but I use RO water to reduce the hardness so I can keep tetras, I have lost a few neon tetras to. They are not as hardy as they use to be. Too much in breeding. Also with a new tank it is best to wait 6 months until it is fully stabilized before adding fish...

Tanks are really looking great, I am thinking of buying cardinals instead of neons in the future. I have lost several neons but have not lost a glow light for over a year so maybe and glow light/cardinal tank in the future. I am thinking of redoing a 29 gallon tank from hard water to soft and...

    Vampire Crabs

I tried crabs years ago before there was a lot of information on them. I had several that lived for a year or so. Had a large one that escaped and scared my wife when he ran across the kitchen floor, he made it safely back into the tank. I have been thinking of setting up a 10 gallon tank and...

When I added 22 neon tetras to my 55 gallon tetra tank I add some extra floating plants just in case the ammonia levels started to increase. At the time I used hornwort.

    Newbie

My daughter rescued 8 African cichlids when she was in college and put them in my 55 gallon community tank. It did not take long before I had to remove all the other fish because they became aggressive. Then they started to have fry. It was fun to watch until I had over 50 new young adults...
