    Guppy help please

Crushed coral can increase GH also. I have the revise problem and have to use RO water to reduce the hardness in my soft water tetra tank. I keep my guppies and platys in their ow n hard water tanks. It is easier to increase hardness than reduce it.

    Mystery fry???

I have anywhere from 20-40, it is hard to tell with the large LOTR castle where they like to hide.

    The downside of frogbit

That is a lot of leaves, I have been adding flourish at 1/2 dosage once a week but recently doing it twice a week. I also lowered the water level to give the frogbite more light. Keeping my fingers crossed the frogbite will take off I would love to be able to have it look like yours

    Mystery fry???

I am always having tiny fry show up in my guppy tank, the other day a small platy fry showed up hiding in the lower part of my LOTR castle. I have not had any platys in there for about a month and then it was just a female.

If anyone sees my nerite snail, let me know.

I had a fiddler crap go on a walkabout once, scared the heck out of my wife when it went across the kitchen floor, he made it home safe with a little help. Hopefully your snail will show up, did you check the filter?

    The downside of frogbit

Wow, your tetras seem to like the roots :fish: I just have a few in my tetra tank and barely any roots but they are a nice shade of green and a few small leaves have shown up.

    Random parasites or fungus....

Raise the temp to 86 to 89 degrees and do daily 50% or more water changes, remember to treat the new water with conditioner. Do this for 2 weeks. You can add marine salt about 2 tablespoons per 5 gallons, this should be added slowly to the tank by dissolving it in water and adding that water to...

My 20 gal amazonian biotope project

You are welcome. another thing I am researching and just bought a bottle of is "Fritz dark water almond leaf extract" I have not tried it yet but it claims to provide a natural source of tannins. I picked that up with a packet of Indian Almond leaves advertised as (Betta Catappa Leaf) at Petco.

    Wildfire Nightmare

@NCaquatics is right plants like anacharis, moneywort, hornwort, frogbite, salvinia and if you can not find these duckweed does a great job but may take over your tanks.

    Wildfire Nightmare

So sorry to hear about your fish loss :rip: I suggest getting some bottles of tetra safe start plus to replace the good bacteria your tanks lost. You can mix RO water in with your tap water, that is what I do. My oldest daughter lives in Colorado only an hours drive from Denver and has also told...

    Scarlet badis

Ember tetras would work out also, corys are usually very peaceful but they would be better off in a 20 gallon long with more room to swim.

My guess would be too much stress with how he was acting and from what you tell me. Maybe like someone getting too excited and having a heart attack. Sorry to hear about your loss :rip:

    Community fish

Lots of bubbles, I would suggest putting the bubble line at the rear of the tank so you can watch the fish more clearly. Interesting stone/plastic stone set up. I like it.

    Neon tetras

Do you know what type of water you have? Hard or soft? You can check with your water provider to find out if you do not know. Tetras are soft water fish where your platys are hard water fish, the tetras may take time to get use to you tank. Can you post a picture or two of the tank? Also most...

Ember tetras in my 10 gallon! Can I add pygmy corys?

I have to get the water conditions right, PH and GH. I read that they do not go after their fry but do eat the eggs. I have a 10 gallon tank ready to go when I am able to add a few more to my shoal. I hope to be able to breed enough fry to hit 20 or even a few more.

Ember tetras in my 10 gallon! Can I add pygmy corys?

I only have 4 right now, had 10 about a year ago. They are hard to find around here with C19, I want to bring my shoal back up to 10 or even add more to 15 to 20 when I have my 29 gallon tank changed over to soft water. I want to give them their own tank. I also hope to breed them. My other...

    Tiny Brown Snail???

I also have them in my tanks, they are pretty common and usually are on plants you buy. Their eggs are also easy to miss.
