    Introduction

Welcome to the forum, nice looking tank :fish: :hi::fish:Thanks for posting a picture:snap: My biggest tank is a 55 gallon tank that I keep soft water tetras and cory in.

New tank - added one Glofish Tetra - should I add more?

Having some floating plants will help with the stress, tetras like shade. I would also suggest no bright lights and places for them to hide. 10 gallons is small for 6 tetras so low light will help reduce stress.

A topic not commonly available to new fish keepers Re: water softeners

I mix RO water with my tap hard water and use a hard water meter pen to keep track of the ppm of the water. I currently buy my RO water in 5 gallon jugs but I am looking at a RO water system for my house.

    Malaysian Trumpet Snails

I catch and release pest snails into my RES turtle tank. My turtles do not eat as well these day since I cut back on how much food I feed my fish there by reducing the number of pest snails.;)

    15g first occupants!

I just added some more salvinia to my tetra tank, I have noticed as the floating plants thin out my tetra are more jumpy. Many small fish hide under floating plants out of fear for birds.

    Meet my fish!

Nice looking pleco, my last pleco was a rescue and grew to 13 inches, even my cichlids left him alone.

    Im cycled and semi stocked..thanks!

I agree with @Utar the corys will settle down, neon tetras like shade and will be stressed by bright light. They come from South American jungle streams with lots of shade. I have floating plants in my tetra tank to help shade them. One of their primary fears is birds so they like to stay under...

That is great news, glad he is recovering and feeling better

Finally got round to doing my Sand Substrate

I changed my 55 gallon tetra tank over from gravel to sand and was happy with it. I also noticed my cory seem happier -at least they like to dig more.

Black Beard Algae - The tale of two totally different aquariums.

I used hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle to kill the BBA and it worked. I had it on some anubias and spray the BBA let it stand for about 5 minutes and rise off or if it is bad just put the plant back into the tank. It took about 2 weeks to kill the BBA off. I had to spray about 3 times over...

Have i got too many fish ?

I agree with the other members, you are over stocked. I would suggest the 55 gallon tank for the tetras they need the room to swim. I have a 55 gallon tetra tanks with several shoals of tetras and they make use of the entire tank swimming.

Seachem Flourish Comprehensive vs Tropica Premium Nutrition

    Office Space

You tank looks a little empty after all that. wish my frogbit was doing as well just a few new small leaf offshoots after almost a month. Nice to see your embers look healthy.

DIY aquarium setup, enjoy the process... not the cost.

Very nice woodwork for your tank, you did a great job. When my kids were young they liked helping me with my fish, that was many years ago. Now my 1 1/2 year old granddaughter comes over and likes watching my fish.

Under Gravel vs Hang On Sponge filters

I still have one tank with an UGF system which works great, you have to do a good vacuuming every other week or so but it really does the job. I have run UGF for years without problems. I have also sponge and HOB filters and prefer the sponge over the HOB filter because of it's simple design...

    African cichlids

I agree with @utahfish, I had cichlids in a 55 gallon tank and once they set up their territories they do get aggressive. I had to remove all the other fish in the tank except a pleco which was left alone.

Hydrogen peroxide to kill hair algae?

I used it in a spray bottle to kill some black beard algae on some anubias I bought and it worked. Takes a little time but it is gone.

    Aquarium Decorations.

I have two tanks that are natural but I still like my LOTR castle tank and it is my granddaughters favorite. I like to see well done decorated tanks, Old Roman or Greek buildings or castles are fine. Just as long as the tank is not full of all sorts of junk that looks like a yard sale.

    15g first occupants!

Great looking tank, since the fish are new I would suggest that you keep the lights down low to help relax then as they become familiar with their new surroundings.
