With a planted/silent cycle you rely on the plants to absorb all the ammonia. There will be no nitrates or nitrites to worry about because the plants absorb the ammonia and do not break it down like bacteria. I do planted cycles on all of my tanks. Having fast growing floating plants like...

Do you have live plants in the tank? If you have enough live plants they will absorb the ammonia and you will have 0 readings. You would be doing a planted/silent cycle instead.

White Mountains in New Hampshire? they are beautiful, I lived near Portsmouth NH as a kid many years ago. Nice looking tank, I would suggest adding more plants like anubias and Java Ferns.

The frog bite looks good and will help with the water quality. I have a small amount in my 55 gallon tetra tank but it has not done much, I have mostly salvinia floating. @Huscarl86 does have a good point, your tank appears to be over stocked. Doing larger water changes every week can help...
