    Anubias

I have been buying small anubias plants in little pots lately. Petco had them for 4.99USD. I wonder if they will be alright staying in those little pots over a longer period of time?

    Duckweed!?

I am trying to grow some duckweed for my turtles in a plastic container. I do not have much so far. My wife is not wild about it being on the kitchen table when I put it out for some sun. :)

Freshwater Fish for 40 gallon tank

I have both soft water and hard water tanks. I use RO water to soften my hard water for my tetras and cory. Fish kept in the wrong level of water hardness do not live as long as they do in the correct level. I would avoid neon tetras until your tank is more stable (6 months or so) they tend to...

    Hi - new to forum

Sorry about the fish you lost, some fish just do not get along, I had a similar experience with some African Cichlids that my daughter rescued, I had to remove all the other fish from my 55 gallon tank except a pleco that they seemed to leave alone. Mary seems to be doing well, beautiful fish:wub:

water change and getting new fish advice??

I have to do a water change on my 55 gallon tetra tank today, it is a little more involved since I have to mix RO water with my hard water. Not as ambitious as you, I am waiting until later today to do it. Molly like to have fry so keep that in mind. I had so many molly fry once I had to set up...

    Hair Algae?

I have sprayed hydrogen peroxide on anubias with BB hair algae with good results. I was able to remove the plants, treat them and put them back in. There is a way to do it while still in the tank if you look online. You should also look at how much light and nutrients you have, reducing the time...

Plants... How Do I Do This?

I wish I knew what could help you , I am using a sponge filter it does work out better than a HOB when you have floating plants and a lower level of water. If you come up with a way not to have the extra splashing let me know.

Plants... How Do I Do This?

I have mostly anubias and different ferns attached to various items and some sword plants. I also have salvinia, moneywort, pennywort and anacharis planted and floating in my tanks and all are easy to take care of. Like @essjay I use flourish comp. These are pictures of my 55 gallon tetra tank...

    Hello, All!

I had one of my daughter bring home 8 young African chilids from college as a rescue. It was fun a 1st, then they grew and became aggressive and I had to move all the other fish except a large pleaco they left alone. They then had their own territories and started to have fry. It was fun...

    More Guppy Babies

I have a 29 gallon guppy tank and constantly see new guppies, they bread like rabbits. I must have a least 50 guppies in that tank. They over populate and I have had to move some to my 20 long RES turtle tank.

    Cycling tanks and cycle starters

You could be safe and add some Tetra Safe Start Plus, your plants are mostly slow growing so they do not absorb a lot of ammonia or maybe adding some salvinia and frog bite floating plants would help make sure your tank is safe for fish. I am not sure how good SeaChem's stability is but Safe...
