    Show us your cat/s!

This is Yoshi. He's 11 and his friendly nickname is "Champ" as a short for the Italian "campione di urina" ("urine sample" -> sample and champion are the same word in Italian: campione). You can guess by the nickname that he's not allowed on the sofa.

    Hello!

+1 on the health benefit convo. Having a corner in the office helps me with work induced stress. This hobby rules. Second only to motorcycles but a lot less weather dependent.

    Stocking Suggestions

Ooof.. Not much that I can think of.. Most schooling fishes I know need longer spaces than 15G. And not sure about recommending any nano fish, given the high flow..

    What is this snail

Same battle here. Did not bring in the big guns (assassin snail), I just remove the pond snails manually and leave the ramsnhors. Every time I spend time looking at it I take the shrimp net and grab any pond snail that is easy to catch. I dump them in a flower pot as fertilizer.

60G breeder journal - the CAVE

Few days in with the emperor tetras: still good parameters (0 ammonia 0 nitrates, despite massive population growth and heavy feedings including brine shrimps this morning), no visible losses in the tetras, although getting a headcount is not really possible. The older Cory frys are now 1/3 the...

can't keep neocaridinas alive [spoiler: no survivors]

Ok F it. Next time I try Caridina instead of Neocaridina, since softer water is easier to do for me than harder water. Ordered a 10 gallons aquarium and some Gh/Kh+. Also inert substrate. Sigh.

Tilapia with shiny raised white spots on lip, forehead

I'm here to ask questions too, I don't have any presumption of being a fish doctor. I share the limited amount of knowledge I have but this might be the first tilapia I see that wasn't a fillet. :)

can't keep neocaridinas alive [spoiler: no survivors]

I wish. I did minerals by the volume (tbsp) and sorta eyeballing it. Will be way more thorough and make a written table of exactly how much needs to go in

Dither fish added! 19 Emperor Tetras :) There is a fish in this pic that looks like it does not have a tail fin... It does not have a tail fin, completely nipped (not rot, nipped). Buch of them had nipped fins. Got them on sale from a local store, sadly one fish jumped out when the lady picked...

I use RO plus Equilibrium. Over a 1G water change it's easy to bring a large change in TDS

can't keep neocaridinas alive [spoiler: no survivors]

Years ago, I used to keep troves of neocaridinas in all my tanks, and they would reproduce WILDLY... but since I moved I can't seem to keep them alive. I used to use tap water from where I was, and now I use RO+equilibrium, so I guess the problem is problemy somewhere in that. I don't really...

60G breeder journal - the CAVE

It's dirted, substrate is a mix of 1/2 top soil (about 12L of it), 1/4 fine gravel (1/8 inch) and 1/4 larger gravel (1/2 inch). It's in bags and then it's capped with the 2 different textures of sand that are visible. Was going for a look as natural as possible. Ever 2 or 3 days i do measure...
