Oh yeah consumer cat climbers usually last less than a year, they either destroy the scratching part or they jump on it aggressively and they become all wobbly (they are not durable)

Yes, but i strongly recommend having a litterbox in each floor of the house. Any door behind which there is a litterbox must be left open and it's easy to make a mistake and close it. Also, if you forget to clean the litterbox one day you need a backup. One litterbox only is not enough. It works...

Number of cats +1 litterbox. I like the ones with top entrance that are made of just one piece. No leakage, less litter tracked around

One of mine eats shoes. We got shoe lockers that close. Still the kids are terrible at putting away their shoes do those are all chewed. Trim nails is easy. You'll notice when it necessary, they get on you for cuddles and it hurts.

To the mods that changed the title of this post to stay in guidelines: thanks, this works too. Did not intend to step outside guidelines

Building a "Land Plant" Filtering System

Distilled water here was 130$ one time purchase for the cheapest RO on amazon, plus 10$ for a float valve. Depending on the size of your tank, you might want to spend more in plumbing, but if you are never gonna need more than 5 gallons of RO water at a time you can just clip the float valve on...

What's this hard stuff that feels sorta like cristals that was on the tip of 2 leafs from a java fern?

    Fluvial Edge Stand?

I am afraid something like this could have little lateral stability. Maybe reinforce it. A 30cm cube does not weight a whole ton, like 40kg filled, almost anything from Ikea and would do

My old betta developed this quickly, maybe fin fungus?

Mind then that the original wound that lead to this was probably betta-to-betta aggression. Sororities are trendy but tricky.

I keep emersed plants in the tank because I like them. Nothing to do with avoiding water change. I am actually set up for ridiculously easy water changes: Water out: Water in:

High Ammonia with no fish, two contradicting answers on forums.

I don't think it's related to pH at all. You just have ammonia due to it either being present in your tap water, or coming initially with substrate or any decay from plants. Having ammonia in a new tank doing cycle is normal and desirable. It will feed the nitrifying bacteria that will...

    New set up

Yes, for livebearers in particular (which mollies are) it's very easy to tell them apart and all fish stores would do that for you. Not sure about general pet stores like petsmart. On water change, worry about ammonia and nitrites, keep them lower with water changes as other people said, but...

Building a "Land Plant" Filtering System

I did this with my now biggest tank, I have a small monstera swiss cheese in there, a small spider plant and a quite large peace lily. The peace lily in particular seems to be during very well in water. There were also 2 ferns but one I had to take out and repot because after ~5 weeks it...

Also he does not pee _INSIDE_ the box, he pees _ON TOP_ of the box, then tries to bury it by scratching the plastic. He could pee in the toilet if it wasn't that if we leave it open he would also drink from it.

I like to live. I do however Trim nails regularly and they comply with that. Almost never. Only in emergency cases like if a disaster of some sort happens and they get dirty. Cats obsessively click themselves after a bath causing a spike in allergens that makes me sneeze no stop for 2 weeks My...

    Shrimp breeding, take 2.

After killing all my shrimp in the first attempt to get a colony established, here I am for take 2. Spoke with a local shop that keeps and breeds a variety of shrimps, and we came to the conclusion that my water was probably too hard. He asked if my males died before my females (they did),and...

Best sponge for 10 gallon with chemical filtration? QUIET Air pump?

I have similar issues, but I do have a bigass generator for the whole house for big outages. However, I don't turn it on unless I expect the outage to last a long time, so I am considering a small UPS for the aquariums.. they aren't crazy expensive and the filters take so little energy it would...

Best sponge for 10 gallon with chemical filtration? QUIET Air pump?

I have 2 air pumps that are really quiet. One is this nicrew, it cannot be heard but the volume of air it pushes is limited, good for an air stone in a small tank, not sure about a filter. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09JKHPT2S And this, that is reasonably quiet and can be heard but I put it in a...
