Built a stand for the second 5ft tank today. Was going to make it out of steel at work but ive gone with good old timber instead. Got to do a top and some sides out of plywood possibly, not sure if im going with doors or not yet, then ill paint it white to match the tanks trim🙂💪

The 8ft and 4ft tanks are a while off sadly, ive got other projects and things to do before i can turn my attention to getting the fishroom done. I am however working on getting the 6ft 180g sooner 🙂 need something to play with while i wait for the fish man cave lol

Ill be ok once they are actually attached properly and siliconed in. My issues are they wasnt done in the first place. The back braces are still firmly in place and my 180s still as good as new so the design is fine if correctly siliconed to start with.

P.s how was your trip to wharf?? Just on a scouting mission for the 4ft Nic tank or did you come home with any new little friends 🙂 Was the pair off black nasties still in store? The male had such a great personality

Tbh this is the only thing whats let the retailer down a little. I must say they have been fantastic otherwise. Juwel sent the new tank to retailer first then they arranged delivery to me. Their trust in Juwel unfortuntely was a bad judgement. Not great like you say but i can sort the issue...

Quality control is the big problem they have and need to sort quickly. The tanks will last the lenght of time you should expect if this process is completed before the tanks are dispatched.

Thanks for taking the time to look Wills. They are indeed normal siliconed because my 180 is and other members have checked their juwel tanks to find that correct also. Just baffles me that the silicone can be missed of my first tank on the front braces then missed of both sides of the new...

Ellioti's are pretty peaceful cichlids compared to most others. Be fine in that set up. Mine are in with other cichlids, barbs, Colombian tetras and bottom dwellers without issues. Lovely well mannered cichlids

Got it in one lol No silicone on back or front braces this time. Theres silicone all the way round the trim but none on bottom sections of braces where they meet the glass. Least its empty and will be easy to pop some silicone on myself.

Well.....new tank arrived today. Opened it up and its all in one piece which is great. However.... can you guess what juwel havent done in the process of building it??

Yeah i tried that too. Left it till an hour or 2 after lights out but my barbs and cichlids just polish them off and my king never even bothers. My Bn's the same

Ive had my King tiger pleco 6 months now and eats nothing but what he finds on wood. Doesnt touch waffers, pellets, flake or veg at all. Ive dropped live foods right in front of him and he doesnt even have a sniff.
