Bocourti mainly but i did catch the rainbows having a nibble. Dollars were ok tbf but i persume they would of started at some point

Why thank you @EphesusExotics 🙂 You wont be disappointed if you go with the columbians. They go off in little packs or school together lovely and their blue coloration with the red fins are👌

Yeah it does tbf lol, i do miss the plants but now some of the cichlids have matured and the dollars are in the plants wont last. Even started on anubias before i change to biotope.

Sounds like you have 3 females then so they will lay but without a male the eggs will not hatch into baby fish as they wont be fertilized

No worries👍 Unfortuntely other cichlids arent as easy to sex but these are kind enough to let us know🤣

Set up the new Rio yesterday and moved my cichlids and entourage over from Rio 1. ( forgot how i dislike cleaning sand - 75kg lol) only a quick scape for now with rocks and wood i already had but it looks nice and clean and provides the space for the bigger fish and shelter for the bottom...

Easy to sex Ellioti's. The males are much bigger and the females will have the dark blotch in the dorsal fin. The eggs would of been eatan with other fish in the tank. Ellioti in my experince are very good parents

Filled the tank tonight to see if 1 the tank was water tight 2 the stand i built was strong enough and 3 the brace bar repairs ive done held firm Passed with flying colours:band:

You might have to trim at some point lol 🤣 because it will just keep sending leaves up to the surface. My green lotus use to send 2 pads up a week so i just cut 2 of the older leaves off once they reached the surface. Just a case of trimming at the bottom of the vine

Yes its a green tiger lotus. You can trim it which will keep it down low and bush out or leave it to grow upto the surface and be lilly pads Ive had/got the red and green lotus and they are stunning once established

Yes they will eat left overs, graze on algae and biofilm aswel. Their not fussy eaters for sure. Babies are cute too lol

Assassin snails generally prey on smaller snails such as malaysian trumpets and ramshorns but some say they can take out larger snails in groups although i think that must be rare. Ive got Nerites and Assassin snails together with no issues but they would never need to tackle larger nerites...

Think a mix of Herichthys carpintis, tomocichla asfraci and Vieja oscuras could work in a 5ft set up. Not sure on numbers of each but its the ones im drawn too atm
