Looks like algae bloom = too much light Try cutting back to a photoperiod of 6 hours a day...manually turn the light on and off, if you have to Do this for a week, see if it improves

Platys are hard water fish, tetras prefer soft water...what is the hardness of your source water? BS tetras can be nippy and aggressive, as well, especially when kept in inadequate numbers

I'm a fan of community tanks, they are all I keep...with fish that are compatible with each other, after careful research I've never been interested in "biotope" setups, for some reason...
