    Black neon tetras

12-15 black neons in a 29G Not much of a footprint for corydoras in a 29G, but you could try them for substrate dwellers...shrimp and snails are nice, too A single BNP would be fine, as well

    Slimmed Down Fish Room Journal

Hmmm...trying to remember that guy's name, as well...seems like ages ago that "the old forum" even existed Sounds like the fish room is keeping you & sis busy, hope you guys are doing well :)

    Absolutely horrendous!

Thankfully, the Governor of my state has banned Tic Tac from all state agencies, so I can't even view it ;)

What's the best option in your opinion for my 10g?

Some bettas work in community settings, but most don't...if he's been with other fish, and there have been no issues (which you can only be certain of by watching the tank 24/7*), it may be OK....but have a plan to quickly move him if things don't go well *Which is impossible, for most fishkeepers
  12. Slaphppy7

What's the best option in your opinion for my 10g?

Smaller than 10G?...if so, they DO need a bigger tank, for sure DO NOT apologize for asking questions...that's how we all have learned ;)

    Benefits of live plants

  14. Slaphppy7

What's the best option in your opinion for my 10g?

Ember tetras would work in a 10G, for sure, I have 14 of them in mine Neon tetras often times have health issues, and cardinals get too large for a tank that size, and need more swimming room The embers would prefer plenty of live plants to make them comfortable

White spot on my betta’s eye!!! Help!!!!

Welcome to TFF DO NOT medicate fish if you are not certain what is wrong with them. We need to know your water params. Get one of these test kits linked below ASAP, test for ammonia, nitrItes, and nitrAtes, and post the results here. https://apifishcare.com/product/freshwater-master-test-kit

Should I get a nerite snail?

See post from @Essjay above; you need a bigger tank sooner rather than later, and I would still not keep serpae tetras with the other fish The present setup may seem like they "are doing great together", but none of us can keep an eye on our tanks and fish behavior 24/7; lots of aggression can...

What in your opinion is the biggest obstacle you face when keeping fish?

"What in your opinion is the biggest obstacle you face when keeping fish?" Not "what", but "who": Mrs. Slap Welcome to TFF
  19. Slaphppy7

Should I get a nerite snail?

More likely silicates from that white sand...once they are depleted (after many weekly WCs), they'll dissipate, and the brown "algae" will abate...
  20. Slaphppy7

Should I get a nerite snail?

More than welcome...do the rest of your fish a favor (and probably save their lives) by returning or rehoming the serpaes...
  21. Slaphppy7

Should I get a nerite snail?

Nerites don't eat brown algae (which is actually diatoms, not algae) I would be much more concerned about that stocking level in a 10G tank...especially only 4 serpae tetras...tank is much too small, and they are one of the most aggressive, fin-nipping fish in the hobby...particularly when kept...

    Ghost Shrimp Changing Color

Ghost, grass, glass shrimp (all the same thing) are usually sold as feeders (that's why they are the "cheapest), and do not receive the best care at the shops Many times they are diseased....and many times, other shrimp are mixed in with what the shop sells as "ghost" shrimp, and those shrimp...

  27. Slaphppy7

    Amano shrimp

Pygmy shrimp? Shrimp can and do carry diseases and parasites; that being said, I've never QT'd shrimp before adding to my tanks, and have had no issues https://www.aquariumnexus.com/freshwater-shrimp-diseases-parasites-remedies/

    Male Ballon Molly shaking

Again, there's a multitude of reasons that could be causing the behavior you are seeing. Thank you for rescuing them, all you can do at this point is provide them the best care possible.
  30. Slaphppy7

    Male Ballon Molly shaking

"Balloon" fish are purposely bred for deformities to occur, scoliosis is common in these fish. Their organs are compressed because of the bent spine, and the fish suffer from nervous, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, urogenital and muscular system problems. IMO, it is cruel and inhumane for...

    Help!

Welcome to TFF. When you say a "full tank clean", what do you mean? Are you cleaning the filter(s) and media from the filter(s), as well? How are you cleaning them? What kind of test kit and water conditioner are you using? Is your tap water treated with chlorine, or chloramine? How long...
