Exactly the reason why I do not ever recommend hatchetfish anymore. I bought 12 for my tank, after 6 months, had 6. I waited another 6 months, bought 10 more, only 8 survived quarantine, moved them to the big tank, had 12 and voila, a year or so later and I again only have 6. Never again. Jump...

I so do, I work from home and this tank is right in front of the couch too, so I spend a lot of time looking into it, doing the stretching in front of it,... it is the largest tank I have I did change the scape a bit back few months and took out most of the wood and didnt find the replacement...

I have been looking at some larger fish and boy, it is hard to pick. So many choices and conflicting info on which are compatible, not nippy and would work with the pearl gourami / bolivian rams. I wonder for example if congo tetras would work in my tank. Some sites say too nippy for pearls...

Are faunus ater only brackish? I have some tylomelania sp (as sold here, i assume some are perfecta though i can't find a reliable source with the differences. I have the two most common types, brown shell, yellow body with wrinkles or beige body no visible wrinkles) and i am keeping one...

I am fairly sure those are faunus ater. Rabbits have large long bodies while faunus are almost hidden. Feeding and burrowing requirements are the same though

but they are just so fun to watch! Give them like a green bean or a pea and you will see. Anyways, I bought 5 two years ago, now have 13 of these cute little buggers. They grow slowly though :)

So, on at least two of my tanks ( well those that have frogbit) i have the white springtails that hop on the water surface. My question is, how is that even possible? One of the tank have clown killifish, a surface feeding fish, the other one has luminatus, they dont mind hunting on the surface...

I am hoping you are having a lid on this tank, for the hatchetfish :) they are reaaaaally good jumpers. Like 0,5cm gap and they are gone. Also they need areas with open water surface and calm parts while they also need the floating plants but not too many. They wont stray from the surface level...

I was talking about root tab fertilizers and when you uproot plants or mess up with substrate that has them as it releases too much too quick. There are also observations of hillstreams being killed by using no planaria and one other medication, so they are for sure sensitive
