    Quarantine 54l

A small update from me 20.10 I got the 10 sterbai into quarantine, no visible issues 8.11 I moved the sterbais into the main tank (most likely culprit of the following corydoras issues), quarantine got 8 common hatchetfish and 10 otocinclus fish 3.12 I moved all the hatchetfish and the 6...

Ember tetra too fat - exploded?

I will do another set of tests later, today I spent some time trying to catch few of the larger tetras, no luck sadly. Will try to do so later on Here is a video of my two worst tetras in the quarantine, sadly quality is bad since I had to zoom, sorry about that There are other larger tetras...

Ember tetra too fat - exploded?

Now that I think about it I may be describing it wrong. They seem to be rapidly breathing or just moving their mouths (not sure about the gills, too small for me to properly notice). Is that gasping or would that be longer with more breaks in it? Like what is the definition in a fish. Overall...

Ember tetra too fat - exploded?

Normal ammonia and NO results, no to CO2. Only the tetras with issues sometimes hang around the surface and gasp, which is why I am saying they are having issues. Not all the fish are gasping at the surface, not even all the tetras, like 2 or 3. Btw with embers I noticed they sometimes also hang...

Ember tetra too fat - exploded?

Reducing the feeding didnt help. Since the last post I lost another 3. I also added 20 rummynose tetras, all survived the quarantine, moving them was a nightmare, since adding to the tank they are amazing, sleek, fast, curious. Absolutely love them and they work amazing with the hatchetfish...

    Asian river tank

It has been a while, so an update on my asian tank. I got 4 very small panda garra few days ago, they are about the same size as the minnows, which is strange. They are already starting to color up, two have slightly red tint to the fins. Not shy at all, good at feeding, tough they have to...

    Quarantine 54l

How would I transfer the mystery disease to the rummynose, which are in the quarantine, and not in the main tank when the disease happened DURING the time I was quarantining the hatchetfish/otocinclus? There is no cross contamination and I am not moving the rummynose in the main tank for few weeks.

    Quarantine 54l

What logic is that? What is the purpose of the quarantine then, if you move all the fish? I do not understand

    Leviamasol

As I said, the only available any sort of treatment here is esha2000 which I have at home, and the Levimasol I got by someone pouring it out to a container from a larger container he got from someone. I have zero idea what parasites the fish have, just a general assumption that they have some...

    Quarantine 54l

Because I dont know which fish are infected, if it were parasites, all would be and it makes more sense to treat the tank, not the fish. And moving 80 fish to a 54 liter is not feasible. I did do the water changes, nothing I did the salt doses, also nothing. I could still raise the temp after I...

    Quarantine 54l

So, I decided to be stupid and impulsive. I know many of you will not agree and I accept that. My SA tank is having some issues with corydoras. I suspect parasites, who knows, none of the other fish are affected. I decided to treat it with levimasol, since nothing else is available, though I...

    Leviamasol

I got 20ml from the shop that had it from the vet. They didn't have anything else for any other parasites, at this moment the availability of meds here is not good. I applied 1ml per 20l per instructions but he said to leave it for 7 days before water change. Esha ndx instructions however have...

    Asian river tank

Tomorrow i am going to pick up few more minnows and redo the plants in the tank a bit. New java fern sprouts should be glued somewhere, and I decided to move 3/4 of the moss to the background and leave only 1/4 in the front. Will also inspect how it looks and do a water change. But on the first...

    Lotus plant

Hi, so I am wondering if this plant has any chance. I bought this plant a year and some time back, planted it in the substrate, uprooted it, had another part that was just leaves in the substrate and this one was just the bulb and leaves. The leaves were being eaten by the snails, the bulb was...

Best approach for a corydoras quarantine

Wow that would be an interesting way to get arrested. There are no freely available antiparazitics in the market at this moment but I will check the physical stores. I know what ingredients are supposed to be in there, if I decide to medicate I will need to move the shrimp and snail.

Best approach for a corydoras quarantine

No, I only have esha2000, which is like 8 years old, and I dont even know with what I would medicate

Best approach for a corydoras quarantine

One of the corydoras that I assume is going to go next, has a hollow place in his underside, between his pectorals. The dead one I took out today also had a hollowed out space there. I fed in the morning, frozen daphnia, this one participated in the feeding, so I guess I can rule out starvation...

Best approach for a corydoras quarantine

Lost another over night. I did an ammonia chek before the water change I will do later, 0, 0 nitrites too. No clue at this point. This also means not buying the rummynose tetras and not moving the hatchetfish and otocinclus from the quarantine. I will try to get the UV lamp and give it a month...

I am getting really worried now and am considering maybe borrowing an UV lamp, if it were bacterial, to help treat it?

Best approach for a corydoras quarantine

I have lost two corydoras in the past three days. All from the older batch. No visible signs of anything, no fun rot, no barbel erosion, no red botch, no swollen gills, no spots, no nothing. They didn't even go paler, they went a bit darker. Both were those that hung around on the plant near the...

Tetra - one or more types

Hmm, I took most of the naias out (and I reckon I will never ever take all of it out), I did a 50% water change, vacuumed debris under the wood and experimentally put in my brazillian pennyworth from the other tank here What do you think, is this better?

    Asian river tank

For now I am experimenting with hornwort that I had in my vase. Not sure how it will handle flow, the one I have now or if I increase it. It is ofcourse shedding needless a bit again, monster I have a love/hate relationship with this plant. I put it somewhere, like it, hate it, remove it,...

I didnt opt to order the panda garras, is a tad too early. Am waiting on news about the minnows, hopefull they will be in on thursday. I meanwhile moved the pennyworth to the uttermost back corner, as it doubled in size, but today I took it out completely and put it in my south america tank, as...

Tetra - one or more types

I think the rummy nose might be nice, will depend on how they look in the shop. However you may not be wrong about changing something. I already added one more echinodorus on the left side ground, will take some time to grow. The naias is chock full of green algae. I was considering getting it...
