In the US, it's mostly the colder places and the hotter places that have beautiful small fish. I can barely even find small fish where I am!

I think it's still warmer at home for them than naturally outside, because of the heater(A/C). but perhaps that small change is enough for them to think its winter

The rainbow darters and many other fish need an induced cold winter period, however the flag fish don't really need it. These would maybe be harder to keep than your common tropical fish, but I think it's not a bad idea

huh, that's so weird, when I did a google search it was so different. The calculations were simple enough, I just think it is the source that is different. 1 per 5 == 5 per 25(results from petco) and 5 per 30(from post 10 amazon)

apparently a drop is 0.05 ml... so 2 drops per 1 gallon

I think more API is required. Just by quick calculations, 1 ml for 10 Gallons for prime, and for APITWC chloramine, it is 2 ml for 10. however there are many different sources so I'm still not entirely confident.

i think that fertiliser would need nitrogen, which the one I use does not have a lot of. However, the rot and mulm from fish tanks can make up for the loss of nitrogen

it probably won't work unless you simply get a new tank and restart. and you probably will get snails from a bag of new fish or plants. even if you don't completely sanitize your arms or something, the eggs will drop into the new tank and infest it the best option is to wait it out and feed...

hello! is the water stagnant or slow flowing? how much sunshine is there? duckweed likes slow flowing water, but not completely stagnatn, and also part shade to full shade rather than sun azolla tolerates much more sunlight, and it doesn't like flowing water.

personally adding a smaller shoal like 8 to 10 for me is more controllable, since my tank is very understocked and I don't want the cycle to be ruined.
