And another picture of the male because he looks so good. I know some you would have a lot better male guppies such as @emeraldking or @Sgooosh but I'm still pretty pleased with what I got :)
I love the metalic sheen he gets when the light hits him properly you can't see it in this picture...
Hello,
Just wondering if red cherry shrimp are easy to care for? And if you could give me advice on how to care for them? I'm planning on getting some at the end of the week to go with my guppies in a low maintenance planted tank. Any help is appreciated thanks.
With 10 discus I would say your fully stocked and possibly over stocked once you add all the other fish to your tank would be well over capacity. Don't know if you tank is high enough for discus as the are quite tall fish. Also corydoras need cooler water max of about 26 to 27 degrees Celsius...
Yes guppies are very nice looking fish but are susceptible to diseases such as the one you mentioned due to thier inbreeding which is a drawback. And good luck with your new guppies when you get them. And thanks for your input :)
Thanks for your help I will check tge wattage of the light then, the tank is fairly new think the algae may be caused by a bit of plant mulm rather then food.
Ok thanks not sure on the light spectrum but the light is on a timer for about 10 hours. I'm not using any fertiliser at this stage and don't have any floating plants.
Hello,
Just wondering if my pygmy chain sword is alright it has been in the tank for about 1 month. Is it just algae causing it to look like this? This is my first attempt at a proper planted tank so still learning.
Hello,
Just got 1 male guppy and 2 female guppies today. The male is a dumb ear, one of the females are of the sunset colour variation and the second female is a lot plainer and not too sure what colour varient it is yet, maybe just a mutt guppy?
Was just realising how many of these snails there were in my tank and trying to think of a way to keep them under control. They are in a tank with three new guppies and I was wondering if the guppies would eat the eggs and/or baby snails?
Yes ok thanks very much, yeah wasn't doing it to get rich but to lessen the expense of the hobby. About 3 years ago I sold platy fry to my lfs and I got just under 1 dollar each for 21 of them.
